JUST A NICE WORD OF WARNING

As you may know, there is a timed drop system in this game which will
force switches between Sora and Riku at timed intervals. Sometimes, in
your case, you'll be unlikely to go for one of the full character
walkthroughs without a switch. I forced each character to have their
strategy in whole in one chunk, headed with some ---- lines. So, if you
are playing as Sora and end up switching to Riku before you're done,
scroll down a bit and follow along from there. Alternatively, I may use
~~~~ headers, depending on when the story divided up.
... Hey, it's better than me forcing you to be synchronized with my
drops!
As another note, if you want to complete both halves of a story, you
will need to re-enter the world and drop to get the other character in.
Note that I do not know if any walkthrough discrepancies will arise if
you complete World X as Riku when I did as Sora and come back to finish
the other's story. If you can confirm or refute this, please tell me!
And, finally, there is mentioning of an x-blade in this FAQ. The "x" is
meant to be the Greek small letter "chi", which has the Unicode code of
03C7 in your Character Map. I had to replace it because of the
inability of GameFAQs to post Unicode documents. Sorry.
Welcome to another one of my FAQs. This one covers the new Nintendo 3DS title
Kingdom Hearts 3D. It's been a while since we got an actual addition into the
series, eh?
If you don't get what I mean, let me sum it up for you in few quick bursts.
Kingdom Hearts II was released around 2006-2007, okay? That's five years before
Kingdom Hearts 3D. In-between, the titles we got provided some nice background
stuff -- 358/2 Days, Re:coded, Birth by Sleep -- but weren't exactly needed,
ESPECIALLY the former two. (Don't get me wrong. They were quite good.)
Anyhow, Kingdom Hearts Re:coded also hinted at this game with a special bonus
video at the end of it. It mentioned the Mark of Mastery. That video and this
game's release cannot be coincidental, right?
Anyways, crappy intro aside, I have an FAQ for you to read. Get flipping (or
scrolling or whatever) and enjoy!
Welcome to the bulk of this FAQ/Walkthrough. Within this section, you'll find
a wealth of information, guiding you from start to finish for this game. All of
the info is arranged in a semi-chronological order. This section has been
arranged into some smaller sub-sections so you can find what you want a bit
more easily. What the sub-sections are can be found by looking in the Table of
Contents section near the top of the document.
The story of Kingdom Hearts has one of the longest-running coherent stories in
gaming history, having ties to ten years prior to Kingdom Hearts 3D's release
in 2012 and across many games. Newcomers to the series are likely to be a bit
uninformed by now, so I feel that I must summarize the story thus far.
Note that there are massive series spoilers here, and I have dramatically
condensed the summaries, so you'll probably find bunches of random notes
popping up when they probably would've been better placed earlier. I did not
cover every single thing, so note that; I just grabbed the major stuff out of
my memories.
These are in the order of their plots in relevance to the series placement, not
their actual release dates.
-- Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep --
This is the one game I haven't played, so I'm just going to say that you ought
to read the in-game summary when it is unlocked.
-- Kingdom Hearts I --
The Destiny Islands, a verdant tropical paradise sporting a small village and
lots of fun. A trio of friends, the heroes of this series, reside there,
knowing not what their fate is.
Sora, Riku, and Kairi have, for some time now, been wondering about worlds
beyond their own. They decide to build a raft to travel to them. As they finish
it, that night, a freak storm hits like no other. For it is a storm caused not
by the weather, but by darkness, that mysterious, evil force that wants to
engulf all in eternal death.
Sora, not knowing what this storm is, heads to the island where the raft is to
find the island infested by mysterious, dark beings, later named the Heartless,
for they lack no hearts; no souls; killing others to transform them into
Heartless and to take their hearts to empower themselves.
It is also there Sora finds Riku. As Riku and Sora are surrounded by the
darkness, their hands meet, and a bright light shines. The Keyblade, one of
only a very few weapons that can combat the darkness, has mysteriously come
into Sora's hands, thereby choosing him. Riku has also disappeared. Thinking
Kairi is still on the island, Sora finds her to no avail, as she is blown
away by a dark wind, as is he...
He awakens in an unknown town of another world. There, he meets new friends. It
is apparent that this Traverse Town is a place of residence for those who have
their worlds taken by the darkness. Sora also meets Donald and Goofy there and
they embark on a journey.
Their goals? Sora is out to find his friends again. Donald and Goofy want to
find their lost King Mickey. But it is agreed that they must also seal the
Keyholes throughout the worlds to stop the spreading of darkness.
As they travel, they learn that Riku has turned to the side of darkness and
taken Kairi captive. Eventually, they learn that it is Ansem, a currently
mysterious character, who has taken his very body and soul hostage. It all ends
in an epic battle versus Ansem.
Kingdom Hearts is found. Thought by many to be a world of darkness, it is
actually a world of light, and the light slaughters the Heartless known as
Ansem. King Mickey and Riku are found beyond the door to Kingdom Hearts when it
opens and, together, King Mickey and Sora use their Keyblades to seal the door.
In an unknown field, we watch the game end as the trio find Pluto, the lost
loyal dog of the King, and chase him down...
-- Kingdom Hearts: (Re:)Chain of Memories --
In this game, we continue soon after the previous game ends, still in that
field. Sora awakens at night and takes a walk, finding a man in a black hood,
who speaks barely a word, and merely walks off. In the following days, Sora,
Donald, and Goofy walk along that path to a large castle, Castle Oblivion.
Castle Oblivion is a stronghold of the mysterious Organization XIII. While not
very well-known during the course of the game, they are definitely a vile
force that must be dealt with.
As they ascend through the thirteen floors of the castle, the trio find that
their memories are being messed with. They also enccounter various members of
the Organization and end up defeating them. I know I'm really summing this up
quite shortly, but that's what this game mostly is.
Eventually, at the end, Sora and Namine meet up. Namine is a person connected
to Sora and Kairi, for Namine is Kairi's Nobody. (A Nobody is the husk of a
person, left without a heart. When a person is turned into a Heartless, as Sora
was while having Kairi's heart within him in Kingdom Hearts I, and they are of
a strong heart, their body begins to act on its own.)
Namine apologizes for messing with Sora's memories, but it was not of her own
choice: the Organization forced her to. They agree that Sora, Donald, and Goofy
should sleep for the next year, hidden in another world, while Namine fixes
their memories...
-- Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days --
While all this is going on, there is a bit more going on. As explained earlier,
when someone of a strong heart becomes a Heartless, they also produce a Nobody.
Sora was made into a Heartless in Kingdom Hearts I; and so, Roxas was born.
Roxas is a special Nobody, and strong. He has no idea who he is, so Xemnas,
leader of Organization XIII, finds Roxas and recruits him as No. XIII into the
Organization. Roxas is also special in that he can wield the Keyblade, much
like Sora can. All Nobodies tend to retain some traits of their original form.
This game mostly focuses on what happens during Roxas's time in the
Organization and lasts from approximately 3/4 of the way through Kingdom
Hearts I, all of the way through Chain of Memories, and ends where Kingdom
Hearts II begins.
During this time, Roxas befriends a Replica -- a fake Nobody built by Vexen, an
Organization member -- named Xion, who also can wield the Keyblade. Eventually,
Xemnas forces the two to fight each other, or tries. Eventually, they do anyway
and Roxas is the victor, much to his shagrin, for Xion dies in the battle.
Roxas, having fled the Organization several days before the fight, now decides
to take revenge on them. With the power of his and Xion's Keyblades, he heads
to the World That Never Was, the headquarters of Organization XIII, only to
find a mysterious black-hooded man.
This man is Riku, who has been working along with some person to find Sora's
Nobody. The moment is all too convenient; Roxas will likely be destroyed in
trying to end the Organization, and Riku (and Sora) need Roxas. Riku ends up
having to give into the power of darkness to take Roxas into his custody, and
it dramatically changes his appearance so that he looks a lot like Ansem.
For the meantime, so the Organization cannot find Roxas, he is disguised and
put in an alternative Twilight Town where Sora is hidden.
-- Kingdom Hearts II --
And the events of 358/2 Days bleed into Kingdom Hearts II. We watch as Roxas
lives out his last week as a "normal everyday boy" when everything decides to
go crazy. Roxas meets up with Nobodies and receives the Keyblade; seemingly
for the first time, as his memory was erased. He also meets up with Axel.
Axel, in 358/2 Days, was a dear friend of his, but he has no memory of this.
Since Roxas is unwilling to come, Axel has no choice but to destroy him. But he
is rather reluctant in the deed and never does.
Eventually, Roxas also meets up with Namine, who tells him to come to the
old haunted mansion. He soon does, with the aid of the Keyblade, and he has an
odd experience there when looking at a picture of him and Sora, who he has
never seen. This triggers total recall, restoring all of his memories, for the
most part.
Roxas soon heads to the mansion's basement and meets up with Sora. Being his
Nobody, the two fuse together....
A year after going comatose, the 15-year-old Sora, as well as Donald and Goofy,
awaken from their slumber. It is obvious from their daze that their Castle
Oblivion memories are not there anymore, nor is Jiminy's record of their
journey there, and they have no idea where they are.
As they travel around Twilight Town, Sora experiences a lot of nostalgia from
Roxas's time there. They also meet up with Nobodies and are saved from the
onslaught by King Mickey, who tells them to board the train. When they do,
they meet up with one of the villains from Kingdom Hearts I, or at least one of
Maleficent's lackeys: Pete, who is building a Heartless army for her.
They defeat him and ascend the nearby tower to meet with Yen Sid, the King's
teacher. He gives them help in journeying across the worlds with a new Gummi
Ship, new clothes, and so on.
During their journey, they continually find themselves bombarded by both
Organization XIII and Maleficent. The Organization want Sora to continually
slay Heartless for them, which releases hearts, which are used to make Kingdom
Hearts appear.
Also during the journey, it is revealed that a scientist under the real Ansem,
a wise man who studies the worlds, was named Xehanort. Xehanort was one day
turned into a Heartless, like many of Ansem's apprentices, and also turned into
a Nobody. The Heartless half named itself Ansem, and was slain by you. The
Nobody half is named Xemnas, and is the leader of Organization XIII. Many of
the apprentices has similar things occur to them, including having Nobodies
join the Organization.
Eventually, the trio reach their stronghold, the World That Never Was. There,
Sora meets up with Riku and Kairi and Riku's changed looks are cured. All but
the leader of the Organization (and Roxas, technically) are slain. Xemnas
summons Kingdom Hearts and flees them inside.
And so, Sora, Riku, and King Mickey use their Keyblades to open Kingdom Hearts
so they can go inside and defeat Xemnas. They seemingly do and, as they flee
through a portal of darkness, Sora and Kairi meet up with a ghosty Roxas and
Namine. The meeting is cut short when, with only Riku and Sora on the tower,
the tower begins to collapse.
After a final epic battle with Xemnas, who is slain, Sora and Riku find
themselves in a world of darkness. There, the lights of their hearts open a
door. They go through it and find themselves rocketing down to the Destiny
Islands, their home... They meet up with Kairi, King Mickey, Donald, and Goofy.
Some time later, Sora, Kairi, and Riku receive a note from the King. A note
whose text is unread to the player until...
-- Kingdom Hearts (Re:)Coded --
After the events of Kingdom Hearts II, Jiminy Cricket was looking over the
journals he documented during Sora's adventures and found that the one that
was used to document Kingdom Hearts I has a line in it aside from the "Thank
Namine" found in Kingdom Hearts II...
This line leads the King to decode the journals in a computer, and it is
found that the journal still contains what was written, but is filled with
bugs. They use a Data Sora to go through the worlds and decode the messages
and they find odd stuff about Riku in there and various other things about
their journey.
There is no real main point to this storyline, in my opinion. It is seen, at
the end, that King Mickey has decided to send a message to Sora, an urgent
message - the same seen at the end of Kingdom Hearts II.
About what? In a secret video, it is revealed. King Mickey has noted that the
hearts of Ventus and Aqua, characters from Birth by Sleep, have been found.
Only Terra's is left. Eventually, we find that, because Xehanort's Heartless
half (fake Ansem) and Nobody half (Xemnas) are gone, Xehanort may come back.
It is decided then that Sora and Riku should be tested to see if they are true
Keyblade Masters like King Mickey and are worthy of the Mark of Mastery.
And then comes Kingdom Hearts 3D...
#############################################################################
Once you start up the game, you'll be asked if you want to use the Circle Pad
Pro and your difficulty. As with Kingdom Hearts II, from easiest to hardest,
you'll get Beginner, Standard, and Proud. I recommend getting on Beginner if
you're new to the series; otherwise, go for Standard or Proud.
===============================================================================
                                Opening Scenes
===============================================================================
We'll begin our game by watching a scene. We watch what seems to be the human
version of Xigbar operate a computer in Radiant Garden or Hollow Bastion,
whichever name you prefer. Two other assistants of the real Ansem are on the
floor and we see Xigbar's human form get killed by someone called Ansem. This
Ansem is likely the fake Heartless variation of Xehanort. Moving on.
We then see Sora and Riku standing on the shore of the Destiny Islands before
they set out on their raft to other worlds. As they set sail, a storm comes
on them. The raft breaks, leaving Sora alone. A whirlpool pops up and Ursula of
Atlantica prepares to fight you for payback.
At this point, you'll learn about Mementos. Basically, they are optional scenes
and tutorials. They can also be accessed from the menu at any time out of
battles. I will cover each one, video or tutorial. Got that? We'll get a battle
tutorial, so here we go.
===============================================================================
                        Memento: Combat Basics Tutorial
===============================================================================
You'll learn how to fight in this tutorial. You'll begin by learning how to
move around (use the Circle Pad), rotate the camera (L or R), and how to reset
the camera behind Sora (L and R). So look around by rotating the camera to
proceed.
Next, you'll learn how to attack. You use the A Button for a single strike with
the Keyblade, and press it repeatedly for combos. Take out Ursula's tentacle in
front of you.
Next, you'll learn about the HP gauge - it that curving green line in the
lower-right corner of the screen. If it hits zero, which occurs as a result of
damage, your game is over. Also, enemies have HP gauges in the top-right part
pf the screen when locked on to an enemy.
You'll also learn about blocking attacks (Y), dodge rolling (Y while moving),
and jumping (B). When you regain control, block some of Ursula's attacks.
Next up, you'll learn about locking on to enemies, which focuses the camera
on them, even as they move around, and also focuses your attacks towards them.
To lock on, press L and R simultaneously with an orange targeting cursor
present; to switch targets, use L or R. Do so to proceed. Note that you can
stop locking on by pressing L and R again.
Now, at the bottom-left corner of the screen is the command deck in the two
slots above "Attack". There, you'll find various magic and special attacks. Use
Up and Down on the D-Pad to find a desired command, and use X to use it. As a
command is used, it must recharge. Once it has, it can be used again. Once you
regain control, use magic to attack Ursula's tentacles. I only found Fire to
be effective, though.
You'll end this tutorial by learning that new commands can be brought into the
deck by installing them via the main menu. You can also modify other things,
like equipment, settings, and so on.
Bonus (Sora): Maximum HP Increase .................................... []
_____________________________________________________________________________
After the tutorial, if you opted to do it, you'll fight Ursula. There is not
much really to mention about this fight - she is so easy, so it is likely just
a practice fight. Hence, no boss header. Anyways, the fight can be easily won
just by rapidly smashing A and/or X while locked on. Pretty much all of her
attacks can be blocked, and consist of an arm slap, lightning, a laser beam
(yes, it is blockable), and some bubbles.
And, of course, if you get damaged heavily, you can always heal by using one
of the Potions in your Command Deck. After the battle is won, Sora's max HP
increases.
After the battle, the raft sinks into the sea and Sora and Riku slowly float
down to the bottom. They unconsciously reach a Keyhole, sensed by their
Keyblades, and they seal it.
##                                                                         ##
#                           Back in Traverse Town           **KH3D_43**     #
##                                                                         ##
#############################################################################
After the battle, you'll unlock a scene Memento, or Flashback, so let's watch.
===============================================================================
                      Flashback: The Mark of Mastery Exam
===============================================================================
At Yen Sid's tower in Twilight Town, we learn that Xehanort is also a Keyblade
Master. He sought for why there was power in the heart and thought that the
Keyblade War held the answer. Thusly, he renounced his mastery of the Keyblade
for the path of the seeker. His seeking has led to many clashes with other
Keyblade wielders not unlike Sora, Riku, and Mickey.
And, of course, he'll fight us again. We need to be prepared; Sora and Riku
need to take the Mark of Mastery exam to prove themselves true Keyblade
Masters, despite what they really think of themselves: Sora thinks he and Riku
are Masters, given what he's gone through, but Riku thinks different because of
having walked the path of darkness. Riku believes he needs to be tested, so
Sora decides to join in to "pass with flying colors".
And then their examination was to begin.
===============================================================================
                                   Dive Mode
===============================================================================
After watching the scene, or not if you didn't, you'll enter Dive Mode. Dive
Mode is akin to the Gummi Ship minigames of Kingdom Hearts I and II. You must
meet certain goals in the Dive to the next world to be able to find the goal
ring, which takes you to the next world.
During this mode, use the A Button to attack things that have a cursor on them
that is yellow, and, if you find a boss, you'll need to smack their weak points
that flash.
Also during the Dive, use B to make a skydiving X to slow down, and use the Y
Button to dodge swiftly. You'll also find magic prizes on occasion, which can
let you use X to do a special magic attack.
Here, you'll need to pick up 600 of those star-shaped prize points. Simply go
through the rings and attack anything that gets in your way.
===============================================================================
                                 Traverse Town
===============================================================================
After the Dive, Sora awakens in Traverse Town, the first world other than his
own he visited on his first journey. It was where he met Donald and Goofy and
others that helped out: Leon, Yuffie, Cid, Aerith, and others. He also became
rather acquainted with what the Keyblade is there.
Sora notices his surroundings, and also notices the change in his clothing,
which is akin to his Valor Form in Kingdom Hearts II. He also notices that
Riku is nowhere nearby and starts shouting, only to be interrupted by an
unknown kid. This kid is some kind of Player in some kind of Game.
Sora offers to help to no avail, pretty much. You'll end up watching this kid
use Flowmotion to leave. And you get a Memento/Tutorial on it.
===============================================================================
                         Memento: Flowmotion Tutorial
===============================================================================
Flowmotion is a skill that basically makes it easier to move around. To use it,
first you'll need to press Y while moving towards a wall or pole; if you hit
it, you'll active Flowmotion. Flowmotion allows more powerful attacks with the
A Button, higher jumps with B, and high speed with Y.
Roll into the nearby lamppost and press Y to get yourself a boost of speed.
Fly around like a maniac for a while until you land.
After you land, you'll learn that some things can activate Flowmotion by merely
landing on them, such as the rail north of the two lampposts. Try it!
===============================================================================
                                 Traverse Town
===============================================================================
After the Flowmotion tutorial, go to the northern portion of the area however
you wish. There, you'll find a Save Point (the glowing green circle). By
walking into these, your HP is fully restored. If you press A while there, you
will be able to Save and, later on, use the World Map or switch between Sora
and Riku. I suggest saving, then head north to the next area.
As you enter, you'll get a tutorial on Reality Shift.
===============================================================================
                        Memento: Reality Shift Tutorial
===============================================================================
Reality Shift, as one might guess, allows them to bend the rules of the world.
In each world, it will work differently. In Traverse Town, you'll find some
star-marked barrels to use first.
When there is a pink targeting cursor on something, and some down-pointing
arrowheads appar on the Touch Screen, you can use A and X, or slide down on
the Touch Screen, to trigger the Reality Shift. The action then moves down
onto the Touch Screen.
Here, you'll be using the Slingshot Reality Shift. After triggering the shift
via the barrels, touch the thing you were targeting, then slide back and aim.
Practice it.
You'll then learn that the conditions to make the marker appear may differ
from the just-used walk-up-to-it method. For most enemies, for example, you may
need to deal a lot of constant damage.
That ends this tutorial.
===============================================================================
                                 Traverse Town
===============================================================================
After the tutorial, practice some more on the barrels if you want. Once you are
done, go north of the area in front of the fountain for a scene. The unknown
kid comes up, as well as some Dream Eaters. Apparently, you'll have to fight
them. The kid takes some with his Spirit (friendly Dream Eater) before finally
telling you his name: Neku Sakuraba. Okay, time to battle?
Well, time to learn about Flowmotion combat.
===============================================================================
                      Memento: Flowmotion Combat Tutorial
===============================================================================
As one would guess, moving around real quick has its use in fighting stuff as
well. By activating Flowmotion by rolling into a wall (or a pole), you'll be
given some other attack commands, which can differ depending upon the
Flowmotion used.
In this tutorial, defeat all of the nearby Dream Eaters by rolling into the
wall and using your attack. You can just take them on as you would a normal
enemy with Attack and the Command Deck, if you wish.
After this, you'll learn that rolling into enemies may also trigger your
Flowmotion. If you roll into a large enemy, you can use the A Button to do a
Flowmotion throw. Do this with the two big Kooma Pandas that appear, or batter
them to death if you prefer.
If you've done every tutorial up to this point, you'll also Level Up and get
some Strength. Woo.
That ends this tutorial.
===============================================================================
                                 Traverse Town
===============================================================================
Afterwards, Sora notices the Spirit, or friendly Dream Eater, accompanying
Neku. You'll be asked if you can manage them and you'll get a Flashback on the
same subject of Dream Eaters.
===============================================================================
                            Flashback: Dream Eaters
===============================================================================
Here, Yen Sid talks about needing extra help if we are to get rid of Xehanort:
the individuals mentioned in his letter. We need to lead them into our world
out of the sleeping world. To do this, we must unlock the seven Sleeping
Keyholes and retrieve a great power.
Every world is walled off nowadays, so interworld travel is impossible. But
the worlds with the Sleeping Keyholes are even harder to reach - not even the
Heartless can get there. Why? They are in a limbo between darkness and light;
on your first journey, you brought many worlds back into the light, and some
were just left halfway returned. These are the sleeping worlds.
The darkness is still present in these worlds in an alternate form. There are
Dream Eaters, which have two varieties. The Nightmares which ingest happy
dreams, and the Spirits that get rid of the Nightmares. Obviously, we are to
defeat the former and befriend the latter. (Which won't be hard if they're as
cute as that Meow Wow we see. ^_^)
The Dream Eaters will guide us to the Keyholes at the heart of each world, much
as the Heartless did.
Meow Wow Recipe ...................................................... []
_____________________________________________________________________________
After that, you'll get a Glossary entry on the Heartless, as well as a Meow Wow
recipe.
We'll then end up learning about the Spirits more thoroughly out of a memento.
Dream Pieces may come when you defeat the Nightmares; these are able to be
pieced together to create good-natured Spirits, our allies. Begin by selecting
Spirits in the menu so we can learn some.
Afterwards, you'll enter an augmented-reality mode with the outer cameras on
the 3DS. Ignore this for a bit so we can make a Spirit. Press X to open the
menu and opt to create a spirit. You'll then learn Spirits can be made via a
recipe, where all materials are needed in minimum or greater quantities before
you begin, or from scratch, which can make unexpected Spirits.
Once you've decided on which spirit to make, you can also give it a Deck
Command from your stock to raise its stats, and you can also give it a
meaningful name, much like you would a Pokemon.
Begin by selecting the only recipe we have: the Meow Wow recipe. Afterwards,
you are to choose how much of what material to hand over. Note that handing
over more items than needed can raise its level or rank, thereby making it
better. Go ahead and give it all of the materials you have and a Deck
Command. I chose a Potion for the HP boost and the fact I had plenty of 'em.
Afterwards, give it a name or go with the default Meow Wow. You'll then look at
it in the AR mode. You'll learn that giving them some love, much as you would a
pet, raises their Affinity and can end up rewarding you. You can touch the
Spirit's shadow on the Touch Screen to raise its Affinity, EXP., or make it
happier in general. You can also use Training Toys to play with them.
Bonding with Spirits in this way, or battling alongside them, earns you some
Link Points, or LP, which is used on the Ability Link board to unlock new
commands and abilities. Go ahead and rub on the Meow Wow for a bit. Aww...
Once prompted, press X and tap Ability Link. Here, at the Ability Link board,
you'll find a linear track which you progress across by gaining LP. Select the
next ability, Link Critical, to get a minor note on abilities. They can be
learned, then activated, to boost stats or unlock moves. Just note that any
stat-boosting abilities need the Spirit to be in the party.
Speaking of Link Critical, it powers up your moves if your Attack and a
Spirit's attack hit the same enemy, and also boosts the Link Gauge.
Komory Bat Recipe .................................................... []
_____________________________________________________________________________
After regaining control, go along the path in front of you down an alley. Beat
up some enemies on the way as you continue into the Third District.
There, you'll meet up with Neku. Apparently, someone wanted Sora brought to
someone - this SOMEONE is wearing a black coat! Organization XIII? Suddenly,
the man jumps towards Sora, and Neku tries to protect him. As Sora tries to
stop Neku, he suddenly feels sleepy and groggy...
Then you enter Dive Mode with Riku. Do it as you did with Sora, except you must
get 300 prize points before reaching the goal.
Riku arrives where Sora once was in Traverse Town before falling asleep, unable
to find Sora much like Sora could not earlier. As he remarks on how he got
here, another kid, Joshua, speaks to him about Portals - gateways between
worlds. Joshua continues speaking on how that this world is kinda split in two
identical copies, with Portals connecting them.
Joshua then employs Riku to run an errand for him. He's looking for someone
named Rhyme, the key to the Portal to the other side. Maybe they'll even find
Sora there... After hearing that, Riku quickly changes his mind and opts to
find Rhyme.
You'll quickly learn about Portals afterwards. Access a Portal to face-off or
team up with Spirits in other worlds. Touch a Portal on the Touch Screen when a
dialogue box pops up about one. Each Portal has a difficulty level of one to
five stars, as well, to gauge how hard it is.
Once you regain control, first go to the eastern part of the area near the
fire-marked door to find a chest; open it for some Confetti Candy. After that,
go to the northern ledge. Don't go to the next area; instead, use the Portal
on the southeastern corner of the ledge to borrow some Spirits.
Then head north in the Second District. As you enter, Riku ponders on why the
Nightmares never fight Joshua - it is because he isn't a dreamer, unlike Riku
and Sora. After the scene, you'll get the Komory Bat Recipe. Create it like you
did before.
Afterwards, some grammatically-impaired guy named Beat comes up, claiming he is
going find Rhyme with the help of a man in a black coat. Obviously, as Joshua
said, he's "made a friend of our enemy". Then we learn about link with spirits
in a memento.
===============================================================================
                         Memento: Linking with Spirits
===============================================================================
Sora and Riku will each be able to Link with Spirits in a unique way. Sora will
use Link Attacks to team up with Spirits and attack the enemy, and Riku uses
Link Styles, which has Riku absorb his Spirits' power to boost his combo power
briefly. Either way, you'll end up boosting a Spirit's Link Gauge, and, once
full, it'll briefly hand over its power.
Once linked, the Link Gauge will refill as the Spirit's attack hit the enemy.
But you need to link first! Once you're able to, touch the Spirit's icon on
the Touch Screen, or press L + R with X (top one) or B (bottom one). You can
also can touch the Dream Eater emblem or use L + R + A to link with both.
In the battle, attack the enemies, using a link attack when possible.
===============================================================================
                                 Traverse Town
===============================================================================
As Beat gives up in the following scene, with Riku sympathizing with him, he,
like Sora before him, suddenly gets sleepy...
You'll also unlock another Flashback. Let's watch.
===============================================================================
                          Flashback: The Keyblade War
===============================================================================
Long ago, many eras ago in the time of the most fantasical tales, the World
was filled only with light. This was a gift believed to result from Kingdom
Hearts. Kingdom Hearts was protected by its counterpart, the x-blade - it is
pronounced Keyblade - so no one could access it.
(I do not really comprehend the naming at ALL. "Key" and "x" (the Greek letter
"chi") sound just the same. It makes no sense at all.)
Eventually, though, want for the light spread across the land. This greed led
to the creation of darkness. Eventually, warriors of light crafted Keyblades
in the image of the original to help in the war for Kingdom Hearts. This was
the Keyblade War.
As a result, all light except the smallest bit of light in the hearts of
children was extinguished from the world. Because of this light, the one big
World was split into many smaller worlds. The original x-blade did not survive
the fight. It was made of both darkness and light, and shattered into twenty
pieces. Seven were of light (good luck), and thirteen were darkness (bad luck).
The true Kingdom Hearts was swallowed by darkness and never seen again; as
such, all worlds have at least a small bit of darkness. For this reason, the
Keyblade was turned to DEFEND the light.
----
Sora
----
Afterwards, you'll get a Glossary entry on the Keyblade War and Kingdom Hearts,
as well as one on the x-blade.
Suddenly, Sora awakens in Traverse Town alone. Bewildered, he decided to just
look around. You also learn about drops - this is how you switch manually
between characters to progress. Just pause to do it. Drops also occur
after set periods of time - at the end of that period, there is a brief Bonus
Time that boosts the number of Droplets found before you switch.
Begin by going to the eastern side of the area and you'll find a chest where
you found the Confetti Candy as Riku; this time, you'll get some Block-it
Chocolate. Afterwards, go to the southwestern corner of the area. Near the
rubble, your Spirits will lead you to the electrical thing - smack it to
unlock the big door back into the First District. Use the door.
Here in the First District, go to the mailbox and examine it, then examine the
thing that was under it. Opt to go and you'll arrive in the Post Office.
Here, go along the path and you'll reach a big open room. Fight some enemies
as you look around. Near the big, red northwestern structure is a chest with
a Potion inside. Then go along the path provided by the nearby conveyor belt
and up the southwestern stairs. You'll soon come to blue rail; jump over to
the other side and open the chest for an Ice Dream Cone.
Then ride the blue rail, then the yellow rail. Ride the latter to the end and
go down below to a ledge with a chest; open it for a Troubling Fantasy. Ride
back along the blue and yellow rails, then, when the yellow runs parallel to
the green, jump onto the latter. Ride along towards the north, then jump and
go backwards. When you hit the northeastern ledge, go to the chest there to
find a chest with a Paint Gun (Red x10).
Go back to the bottom and retrack. When you ride the yellow rail, get onto the
ledge behind the signs. Defeat the enemies there, then use the Reality Shift
Slingshot to smash the big box into the smaller ones near the wall, revealing
a chest, which contains a Vibrant Fantasy.
Continue back along to the green rail. As you ride back west from the
northeast, jump into the air and boost along from the top of the incline to
the big chest, which contains a Spark. Then ride normally along the green rail
west and north to the Save Point. Use it and go north to the next area.
Here in Fountain Plaza, when you find some crates stacked along the western
wall, use the Slingshot Reality Shift with a barrel to knock the crates down,
revealing a chest with an Intrepid Figment. Then, as the path reaches the stony
path, go into the eastern side alley and open the chest for a Balloon.
Continue into the stony area. Climb up the western ledges and grab the Ice
Dream Cone from the chest. Grind around in the area for a bit if you want, then
use the exit north of the fountain to reach the Fourth District.
Use one of the nearby wires from the rooftop to the north to ride to a big
chest; open it for a Balloon. Ride northwest and open the chest for a good ol'
Hi-Potion. Jump, not ride, back towards the big building and press Y in mid-air
to reach a chest; open it for an Ice Dream Cone. Head to the lit-up area to the
south and open a chest for a Potion.
Leave this area to the southeast and, after a fight, open up another Potion
chest. Head north to find a larger area with a scene. Sora ends up meeting
the amnesiac Rhyme and a Moogle in this area. After the scene, you'll unlock
the Flick Rush minigame, which is a Spirit-on-Spirit fight. You'll be able to
win medals, which can be traded for rare and valuable items at the Medal Shop.
Open up the nearby chest to the east for some Block-it Chocolate, then use the
nearby Save Point. Go southwest and look for a door near some enemies, then go
on through to the next area.
You'll watch a scene here. We finally meet up with Neku, who is surprised at
Sora's remaining trust in him - after all, the deal with the black-hooded man
was to give Sora so Neku and his partner could go home. Sora understands, so
all's well. Rhyme suddenly disappears and the black-hooded man appears, attacks
Neku, and summons a large Nightmare.
=================
BOSS: Hockomonkey
=================
While not really fancy, this boss can be a bit of a pain. It really seems to
favor punches as attacks. It often jumps far away to use punches with its
extendable arms, and can bite you if close. Your main strategy really only can
decently consist of a lot of physical attacks when near it, simply healing as
needed.
~~~

After the battle, a translucent and unresponsive Riku shows up with Shiki, to
Sora's bewilderment. Joshua comes along from Riku's side of the town, and Neku
seems pleased to find his friend again. Rhyme also comes through with Joshua.

It becomes apparent that Joshua has Rhyme's dreams, so he can use Portals.
Joshua also mentions how this town only appears when someone needs shelter, and
how it is made of his dreams - he knows Sora and Riku because he dreamed them
into the town. Basically, he plays God in Traverse Town. =/

Sora learns that Riku in an alternate Traverse Town and wants to go there using
Joshua's "Portal thing", but can't - only the one with Rhyme's dreams can. And
why is the town split into two? Only the black-hooded man would know. And he has
appeared before Riku and fizzed out. Hmm...

----
Riku
----

Riku awakens dazed, much like Sora, but gets less time to think because some
girl is getting chased down by some Nightmares. Defeat some enemies in the area
if you wish, then go onto the ledge of the building south of the big one; it is
northeast of where you begin. There is a portal there; use it.

Three more Nightmares will pop up. Defeat them as you normally would; you'll
get 10 DP, a Vibrant Fantasy, and a Shield Cookie if you block three of their
attacks!

When you're ready, go south into the First District. After a quick scene, you
will fight an absolute SWARM of Nightmares. Finish them off. Note that you can
use the Portal from Tidus in the southeast corner to get some more Spirits. You
will unlock some Drop Bonuses after the fight as a Bonus Level.

The girl, Shiki, introduces herself to Riku and thanks him. After a mildly
humorous cutscene. go west to the next area, the Back Streets.

This area is actually pretty linear. Fight along until you reach a four-way
intersection. Go north and open the chest for a Potion, then return to the
intersection for now and go south. At the end of this path, you'll be near
some water. Open a chest in one of the pools for a Paint Gun (Sky Blue x10).

Then go into the tunnel. You'll Flowmotion along the path to a gap; jump over
and, on the other side, go onto the ledge nearby where a big chest with a
Thunder spell lies. Return to the ground and go back to where you found the
Potion. Enter the sewers like before. You'll soon reach a room with some
enemies. Beat 'em up, then open the near chest for another Shield Cookie.

Exit to the south and, in the next room, you'll beat up some more Nightmares
and find another Potion chest. Go north and leave the sewers. As you continue
to the bridge, use Flowmotion to go west to the far roof with the chest on top;
open it for an Intrepid Figment. Then go back to the bridge, then go north and
along the path. Use the Save Point and continue into the next area.

In Fountain Plaza, use Reality Shift Slingshot with the barrel to knock down
the eastern crates and reveal a chest; open it for a Vibrant Fantasy. Continue
along to the fountain and climb up the crates on the west side to find a chest;
open it for an Ice Dream Cone. Grind around in the area if you want, then go
north to the next area; the exit is behind the fountain.

In the Fourth District, ride a wire to the big building and, in the top area,
open the chest for some Treasure Goggles. Ride to the northwestern buildings
and open the chest for a Balloon, then jump back to the big building and press
Y to reach the ledge. Fight off some enemies and open the chest there for some
Confetti Candy.

Go to the western lit-up area and open the chest there for some Confetti Candy,
then go southeast. Beat up some more enemies and open the chest here for a
Potion. Then go north and northeast to the big open area with a Save Point. Use
it and open the eastern chest for a Shield Cookie. Then use the door to the
west to reach the next area.

You'll watch a scene there. We come across the black-hooded man, who has
apparently done something to Shiki, and demands to know why and how you came
here. Suddenly, Beat mentions the deal between he and the mystery dude - he
gets Riku and Shiki goes back to her world.

Suddenly, the man takes off his hood and summons a Nightmare, leaving without
identifying himself. And you are left to fight.

=================
BOSS: Hockomonkey
=================

Here, the boss really seems to favor fireballs and slapping you, as well as
having some hands just pick up stuff and throw at you. In this area, I'd
prefer you use Flowmotion to really get in some damage.

Also note that there is a chest at the bottom of this area; open it for some
Paint Gun Green x10. Another one at the north side has a Hi-Potion.

~~~
After the battle, Riku sees visions of Sora's side of the town.
--------
The Rest
--------
After completing both halves of the town, Joshua begins to speak on the other
characters you met. He dreamed them up so that they could have another chance
at existence, once he found that dreams take a physical form in this world. It
obviously isn't that simple - to exist, your existence must be noticed by
others. Sora and Riku helped that to happen by uniting the towns and letting
each person, with their connected hearts, find each other: Beat and Rhyme,
Neku and Shiki...
Suddenly, as Joshua flies off, the Sleeping Keyhole appears and it becomes
unlocked...
===============================================================================
                           Flashback: The Task Ahead
===============================================================================
All dreams are connected, so the first Sleeping World needed to be chosen. The
Destiny Islands, prior to being engulfed by darkness, was set to be where they
would begin. They'd let things run their course, and let the dreams guide them
to the Sleeping Worlds.
For each light part of the x-blade, there is one Sleeping Keyhole; seven in
all. Unlocking them grants new powers, and awakens the worlds, and also
releases them from the grips of darkness and slumber.
Awaken all seven worlds by unlocking the Sleeping Keyholes and return to
Yen Sid's tower in Twilight Town safely. That is their goal in the Mark of
Mastery examination. Do that, and they'll be both named true Keyblade Masters.
So, when we decide to move forward, we have three worlds to choose from. This
given all of the magic you can grab.
When you arrive, as Sora, you'll be halted by some judge for supposedly being
a gypsy. The captain mentions that some monsters have taken over the square, so
you run off as the judge remarks on his efforts to remove the gypsies as he
glows with an evil aura.
You'll then learn about the Reality Shift here, Faithline. Connect the dots on
the Touch Screen and you'll slide along them, damaging any enemies you happen
to hit. Once you regain control, go north and use the Save Point and Moogle
Shop, then continue into the next area.
There, you'll find Quasimodo riding one of the Dream Eaters. As the judge and
captain come in, the elephantine Dream Eater suddenly goes crazy, as do the
others, and prepare to attack. Sora intervenes as Esmeralda, a gyspy, flees
with Quasimodo.
The following Nightmare battle is a little difficult, but pretty basic and
nothing special. Afterwards, Sora wonders if Quasimodo is okay. Go forward and
into the building. There is a Portal on the northwestern portion of the field
you may want to check first; if you win, you'll get some stuff.
Inside the Nave of the cathedral, go forward and beat up some enemies, then go
east and use Bartz's Portal (Bartz is from Final Fantasy V) for another battle;
do three Flowmotion attacks and you'll win 10 DP, a Lofty Figment, and some
Royal Cake. The cake is a lie! *shot*
There's not much else to do. Go north and grind a bit, then go to the northeast
part of the area and, behind a pillar, is a chest containing a Drop-Me-Not.
Then go through the door west of the entrance to the Square again. Go left,
around the corner, and through the door.
Here, Sora comes upon Quasimodo, apparently okay, a fact confirmed by the
talking gargoyles nearby. After Sora's freak-out, Quasi and Esmeralda take a
rather unconventional way out. The gargoyles reveal that they are friends with
Quasimodo and how Judge Frollo forbids him to leave - supposedly it is a favor
for the people because of his facial disfigurement. >_<
You'll then get a flashback.
===============================================================================
                        Flashback: Frollo Cautions Quasi
===============================================================================
We watch Judge Frollo caution Quasi on going out into public because he's ugly
and that he'll be treated horribly because the world is cruel. If he was to go
out into the world, he'd be unprotected by his only "friend"; so why not stay
in this sanctuary?
Once you regain control of Sora, go west to the Save Point, if you want, then
leave to the east.
Here, use Flowmotion to go south over the edge of the building and reach the
ground. Defeat some enemies and go southwest. Near the wall, behind the tent,
is a chest with an Ice Dream Cone. Leave heading west and Sora will meet up
with the captain from before. Apparently, the Court of Miracles is the
gypsies' haven within the city; if Judge Frollo gets there, they're doomed.
Suddenly, Quasi comes by and we learn that he's lost Esmeralda. However, the
pendant he received from her happens to be a map to the Court of Miracles!
Go west towards the exit from the square, then go north to find a chest. Open
it for a Potion. Open the southeastern and northeastern chests for a Balloon
and Block-it Chocolate, then go southwest to leave the area.
In the Town, you'll have to defeat three of the big flower Nightmares. Go
forward and defeat one of them. Then go south, east, and southeast to find a
stall with an orange tarp over it. Jump on it to reach the rooftop. Make your
way to the northeastern corner of town for another. As you do, keep in mind
that the dandelion-like flowers will poison you - not good at all. The final
one appears just south of there near the big door; beat this final one for an
HP increase. Use that big door to reach the next area.
Go north. As you do, near the east side of the entrance chunk, near a tent, you
will find a chest with some Block-it Chocolate. In the first tower is a chest
with a Shield Cookie, as well as a Portal from Zack (character of Final Fantasy
VII) - defeat all of the Spirits, using at least three Flowmotion attacks, to
get 10 DP, a Shield Cookie, and a Troubling Fantasy. In the second tower, you
can get a Potion. In the final chunk of bridge, behind an overturned wagon, you
will find Paint Gun (Red x10) in a chest. Continue to the next area.
Here in the outskirts, go along to the fork in the path. Go along the southern
one and grab the chest with the Potion, go into the nearby eastern alcove for
a Balloon, then go along the northern path from before for the Drop-Me-Not. Go
to the western half of the southernmost portion of the area and open the two
chests for a Confetti Candy and Noble Figment. Then go into the northeastern
alley of the area and continue onto the next one.
At the Graveyard Gate, go along to the Save Point, then go east to the
southeastern corner of the area, beating enemies on the way to your Drop-Me-Not
chest. Go to the northwestern corner for a Potion, then to the northeastern
one for an Ice Dream Cone. Then use the nearby entrance to the next area.
Go along the path in the Tunnels. At the east/south fork, go south and open
the chest for an Ice Dream Cone 2. Investigate the southern wall and smash the
target. Go along the path and you'll soon find a Portal. Use it and win in 20
seconds or less for some treasures: 10 DP, a Dulcet Figment, and something
else.
Use the Faithline from where you used the Portal to go north twice. Destroy
the thing there to stop the drop-speeding gas. Go to the ground now and go into
the northern alcove and open the chest for a Noble Fantasy, then go into a
southeastern alcove to find a chest with Sleepra. Then go to the northeastern
area and, on the north side of the northwestern rock, is a chest. Open it for
a Paint Gun (Purple x10).
Remember where the Portal was? Use the Faintline near there to go as far
northeast as possible and open the nearby chest for a Drop-Me-Not. Then ride
the Faithline to the northwestern portion of the area to find a chest with a
Block-it Chocolate 2.
Now, hit the ground and go to the east-central wall of the northeastern open
area. There is a false wall near here you can break down. Break it down and go
along the path south to the next area.
Here in the Old Graveyard, go south and east for a bit of a fight, then go to
the northeastern corner of the area to find a Drop-Me-Not in a chest. Then go
to the southern part of the area and use the entrance to go to the next area.
In the Catacombs, go along the path to the lower pit. After the battle there,
break the western wall down and go on over to the chest, which contains a Fire
Windmill. Then go along the southeastern path into a larger area. There, use
the Faithline go southeast. Destroy the gas-spewing thing there so you can go
on the ground without speeding up drops.
Then use Flowmotion to go southwest and to a ledge with a chest; open it for a
Drop-Me-Not. Then use the Faithline to go to the southeastern corner of the
area and open another chest, this one with a Shield Cookie. Then the ground
and break down the southeastern wall to find a chest; open it for a Toximander
Recipe.
Then break down the northeastern wall. Go south and along the path into the
next area.
Hey! It's the Court of Miracles! Save and shop go the east, then go north to
find another Portal from Bartz. Block three enemy attacks in the resulting
fight to get 10 DP, a Lofty Fantasy, and an Ice Dream Cone. Now, afterwards,
go to the tent a bit east of the Moogle Shop and jump on it, then move north
and west to a ledge with a chest containing a Hi-Potion.
Then go northeast and up the ramps to a carpet. Flo-mo on it to the chest,
which contains Thunder Dash. Save and shop again, if you wish, then go north
and east from those two things to find Esmeralda. Speak with her to warn her
that Frollo is coming, but we're too late! He summons some Nightmares to
attack us, then takes Esmeralda to be burned alive... And Sora also gets
knocked unconscious.
When he awakens he finds everyone gone, and hurries to the Square automatically
where he finds the fire already set. Quasi comes down to save Esmeralda from
being burned. You are left to fight that annoying Wargoyle.
==============
BOSS: Wargoyle
==============
This boss REALLY loves to move around and use a variety of moves, including a
tail swipe, punches, fireballs, fire pillars, and stuff like that. Because of
his mobility, the use of Sliding Dash will be very helpful, as may Blizzard
commands.
You'll also want to bring along some Hi-Potions, and the use of Flowmotion
when the fight gets near a wall is useful. Not to mention a dual-link with
Meow Wow.
~~~

After the battle, Frollo tells Quasimodo just how his mother died and how he's
about to meet a similar fate. They fall off the cathedral, with Frollo soon
heading into the fiery pits of Hell, and Quasi being saved by Esmeralda and
Captain Phoebus.

Sometime later, we find Phoebus and Esmeralda being wed, and Quasimodo decides
to venture into the world. Suddnely, Sora meets up with the black-coated man,
and an Ansem-possessed Sora-thing. You'll unlock the Kingdom Hearts: Birth by
Sleep Chronicle entry as Sora seals the Sleeping Keyhole...

Oh, and the Guardian Bell Keyblade, too.

little guard things around her when you can, then go for her head.

As Riku arrives, we find Esmeralda evading the Captain. He, lacking knowledge
of whether she is a gypsy, unknowingly saves her. She thanks him and explains
the situation.

Once you regain control, go north and grab the Potion, then southeast for the
Confetti Candy. Further east, near the platform, is a Shield Cookie. Go north
and grab the Balloon, then go west and north into the Nave. There, Riku meets
up with Quasimodo and asks where Frollo is; apparently, he's on the outskirts
of the city. After some more talking, it is time to leave.

Go south and leave the Nave, then southwest into Town. Here, go southeast to
the Portal. Use it and do three Flowmotion attacks while beating some enemies
to gain 10 DP, a Noble Fantasy, and a Royal Cake. Jump on the nearby orange
tarp to reach the rooftops. Go south and down the stairs for a Potion chest.
Continue to the southeastern end of the town, then go through the big double
doors.

Outside, we'll find a huge Nightmare, which happens to brutally attacks Riku,
leaving him with only choice: flee! Use Flowmotion to head northward. Just
remember to grab the Potion from the chest in the first tower and second tower.
In the next area, continue eastward, going along the northern wall. You'll
soon come across a Confetti Candy chest.

Continue southeast into an alcove for a Drop-Me-Not, then go south and into
the western dead-end alley for a Potion. Go east and south to the next area.
We watch as the Captain defends the gyspy harborers, then the Wargoyle that's
been chasing us down comes along to help persuade Captain Phoebus. The evil
duo leave, knocking the Captain down on the way and unlocking a flashback.

As the beast leaves to the cathedral (Notre Dame, I believe), we also obtain
the Sonic Impact ability. You already can air slide (press Y in mid-air); with
this ability installed, you'll be able to do this twice and damage enemies.

Not exceptionally important, it simply reveals the intent of Frollo to get rid

After you regain control, go use the Save Point. Go east and open the chest for
a Water Barrel, then go south-southwest for a Sliding Crescent. Be sure to
equip the latter, as well as Sonic Impact; you'll be able to attack during an
air slide with the A Button now. Then go south and along the path to the
outskirts of town.

Here, go north and use the Faithline along to the end of that path, then go
open the nearby chest for Paint Gun (Purple x10). Go back southeast to the
Portal and beat all of the enemies while using three blocks to get 10 DP, a
Troubling Fancy, and a Block-it Chocolate. Backtrack back through the area.

At the Bridge, go southeast to the chest and grab the Confetti Candy 2.
Continue back across and, in the second room you come across, is a Portal from
the Onion Knight (job class in Final Fantasy III). Defeat all of the enemies,
using at least three Flowmotion attacks, and you'll get 10 DP, a Lofty Fantasy,
and a Shield Cookie. Continue back into Town.

In the southwestern portion of the area is a Portal. Opt to use it and beat all
of the Spirits using at least three Flowmotion attacks to get 40 DP, a Lofty
Fantasy, and some Treasure Goggles. Aside from that, go back northwest into
the Square. Be sure to shop and save!

In the Square, you'll find that the Wargoyle has set the area aflame and
Esmeralda hurt, though okay thanks to Quasimodo. He shows that the Wargoyle is
atop the cathedral. Go inside to find the talking gargoyles. After a quick
scene, if you need to, use the Portal to the northwest to borrow some Spirits.
Once you're done, use the southwestern exit.

At the rooftop, we find Frollo enjoying his pyromania and Riku comes behind him
(not pushing?). Suddenly, our boss comes to fight! Before anything begins, we
find the fake Ansem from Kingdom Hearts I alongside the unknown black-coated
similar-looking man. They try to get Riku to yield to the darkness to no avail.

Oh, yeah, we got something else to deal with.

==============
BOSS: Wargoyle
==============

During this battle, the Wargoyle floats on the southern bit of the map. Because
of the flames below, you can ride the updrafts and attack it. It pretty much
relies on punching and spiral tackles to attack. That's really about it. Run
up and smack it a few times, blocking attacks when possible.

Also, whenever prompted, opt to go ahead and use Faithline for some Flowmotion
attacking.

~~~
After the battle, you'll get a Chronicle entry on Kingdom Hearts. Read it, for
it summarizes the first game of the series.
Afterwards, Quasimodo, Esmeralda, and Captain Phoebus part ways with Riku. As
he contemplates on Ansem and the path of darkness he once walked, he seals the
Keyhole and obtains the Guardian Bell Keyblade.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After finishing both halves, we watch a scene from the 358/2 Days timeframe.
Roxas and Axel are atop the Twilight Town clocktower talking about a promise,
then Roxas suddenly disappears.

Axel suddenly awakens in the computer room of Radiant Garden/Hollow Bastion.
He has just become a Nobody from his human counterpart, Lea. He finds his
partner scientists from pre-Nobody -- Dilan (Xaldin), Aeleus (Lexaeus),
Even (Vexen), and Ienzo (Zexion) -- on the floor. Then he realizes that, he,
too, has become human (Lea), but only those who joined Organization XIII.

Of course, no one cares about Xehanort (Xemnas), but what about Braig (Xigbar)
and Isa (Saix)?

(There are more... What about the human forms of Larxene, Marluxia, Demyx, and
Luxord? We know where Roxas went, and Xion was...)

You'll also receive the Chronicle entry on Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days.

So, next world?

So, assuming you've followed the FAQ so far, you've finished Traverse Town and
that weird one with the French name. The next logical choice is The Grid, as it
has the lower Combat Level.

Dive!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                                     Sora
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On your Dive down, you'll have to beat the Brawlamari. Just dodge its attacks
until the eyes get close, then poke them out. The hardest attack to dodge is
the laser shield, which you actually need to air brake to avoid hitting.

To Kingdom Hearts II players, I know your first thought: Space Paranoids.

You're right, sort of. Moving on.

After the introductory cutscene, you'll learn about this world's Reality Shift,
Code Break. Tap the glowing letters on the Touch Screen to reveal codes, with
each having varying effects.

Once you gain control, use the nearby Save Point and Moogle Shop, then go east,
northeast, north, and east to the next area by using the map. As you do so, at
the northbound rails, jump off to a ledge on the east side for a chest with a
Water Barrel. At the top, go around and down the western rail, opting for the
chest part-way down containing a Block-it Chocolate 2. Go east to the next
area at the bottom.

Here, go forward and beat the enemies, then scale the big southern wall by
rolling into it, Flo-mo jumping, air sliding into the wall, and repeating. At
the top, open the chest for a Circle Raid. Return to the north and go east for
a quick scene. Sora once more shows his lack of computer know-how and gets
arrested, almost.

Time to run! Ignore the guards, since they'll keep a-coming. In the big
circular area east of two smaller ones, look around ground level for a chest
and open it for a Potion, then use Flowmotion to get to those two smaller
circles for two chests: Fleeting Figment and a Royal Cake. Then speed to the
next area.

Where we find a guard or something. Crap. We also watch three bystanders make
it quite clear that this is Tron's world from Kingdom Hearts II and that Sora's
weapon is unique. Then the guard leaves. The girl from earlier asks to see the
Keyblade and finds Sora to be a unique "program". Sora corrects her and
everyone introduces themselves. It is revealed that the guard that stopped us
IS Tron.

Tron used to be good, but it all went bad when CLU overthrew everything. The
old man was exiled and Tron was supposedly de-rezzed and made into Rinzler. We
need to change Tron back, and this will likely be done by getting a potential
back-up of Tron's source code. Quorra decides to help Sora find CLU.

First up, a solar sailer is needed. After the scene ends, you'll get the
Counter Rush, which allows you to counterattack after blocking by using the
A Button. Use the Save Point to the south, then examine where the pink square
is on the map to proceed. Head to the docks.

At the Docks, you'll be fighting a few enemies. At the west-central side of
the area AND the pillar are chests with a Balloon and Drop-Me-Not,
respectively. At the southeast corner is a chest with a Panacea. Once done, go
to the northeast corner with the Save Point and press on to the next area by
opting to head to the solar sailer.

Hm. Looks different.

Anyways, defeat the enemies here and go around to the behind of the second
obstacle to find a chest with Confetti Candy 2. Go through the hole in the
wall and defeat enemies in there. Use the northern thing to get up a floor.
Go south and destroy that thing with Reality Shift and touching the red words.

Go south and into the next car to find a Hi-Potion. Leave this car, go west
and south at the intersection, entering the next car on the right. Go to the
northern end and open the chest for a Panacea, then Reality Shift the laser
into oblivion. Go into the new car and go to the southern end for three chests:
Water Barrel, Fleeting Figment, and Balloonra. Then use the obstacle you passed
to go up a floor.

You can battle some enemies on the southern two groups of cars and use Reality
Shift on two of the lasers to get prizes and stuff. Then go south to the next
area.

The solar sailer ends up docking. Once you regain control, go north and open
the eastern chest for a Drop-Me-Not. In the northwest corner is a chest with an
Ice Dream Cone 2. Also use the special Portal nearby - if you get 10 attacks in
when linked, you'll get 45 DP, a Noble Fantasy, and a Royal Cake.

Go south now. As you run into the train car things, stick on the eastern one
NOT next to the wall to find a chest with a Potion. Go west and onto the trains
and south, then back onto the ground. Go south to find another Ice Dream Cone,
then go north, east, and up the stairs.

Go south and hug the eastern wall for a Hi-Potion. Continue south and west to
the next area.

Here on the Rectifier 2F, use Vivi's (character in Final Fantasy IX) Portal if
you want to borrow some Spirits. Go south and downstairs, then north for two
chests: Paint Gun (Green x10) and an Ice Dream Cone. Return to the entrance of
the area and go north and upstairs. On the field of the first battle you reach
is a chest with a Potion.

Continue along the path to the hexagonal areas. Go along the linear path, then
as far north as possible past the Save Point to find a chest with a Drop-Me-Not
within. Backtrack after the battle to the Save Point and the Moogle Shop. Use
them both and use the elevator to reach the next area.

There, Quorra and Sora arrive where Tron's source code should be, but it isn't
there - it is probably right with CLU. Suddenly, Tron/Rinzler comes in. Sora
decides suicidally to talk to him and jog his memory, to no avail. Sora and
Quorra get hurt, and Tron/Rinzler takes her away, with Sora shut off to him.

Suddenly, the man in the black hood comes in, speaking briefly about how
memories get shoved to the back of our mind, where they're safe, and Xemnas (!)
mentions how close the heart and memory are... (I thought we killed him!?) He
also speaks on how this world is the original Space Paranoids that the real
Ansem abused for his own needs. Here, data can be copied, changed, and
manipulated, including memories, and that includes Tron...

As Xemnas parts speaking of how Sora is chosen, the unknown man speaks of how
this world is not really a Sleeping World - data cannot sleep, cannot dream -
and he leaves...

Suddenly, Sora finds himself in a fighting arena as Combatant 13 (crap!) to
fight versus Tron/Rinzler. CLU comes along with the latter to meet with him and
do the usual rant. He also wants Sora's Keyblade - it can open any lock,
remember? Hand it over and Rinzler becomes Tron. Sora says he can't hand it
over (but remember Port Royal's ending in Kingdom Hearts II?), so CLU decides
to forcibly take it via Tron/Rinzler.

Gotta fight.

==================
BOSS: Tron/Rinzler
==================

This fight is annoying, to say the least. Your opponent is pretty basic in his
fighting style, sticking mostly to long-range disc throws and close-range
slices, both of which can be blocked.

The more annoying thing about this fight, however, is how gravity can switch at
times. On the roof, the controls are a little confusing. I'd probably prefer to
stick with a lock-on and attack or block without bothering with the Circle Pad.
On the ground, that's where your commands and links should be used.

That's pretty much it. The use of Sliding Dash and such will be helpful in
catching up with this mobile guy. Drain Dive is marginally useful as a healing
substitute, but you'll probably want to bring along a few Hi-Potions anyways.

~~~
After winning and gaining more HP and drop bonuses, Sora does ... something
to Tron/Rinzler to restore his source code and return him back in the Tron we
all know and love (if you played Kingdom Hearts II), to the shagrin of CLU, who
attacks. Tron saves Sora, but falls a distance which is not survivable,
despite Sora's efforts to save him...
After befriending Quorra, Sora wonders if his memories are his own (like Roxas
and Xion before him), and if he IS on the right path. He then seals the next
Sleeping Keyhole and obtains the Dual Disc Keyblade.
                                     Riku
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On your Dive down, you'll have to get one Prize Point in seventy-five seconds
or less. There are some about sixty to seventy seconds in, so don't worry if it
takes a while.

As Riku arrives in what is an unfamiliar world to him, he finds his new duds
and that weird flying machine. Some guards come by and try to capture him, and
they sort of succeed. He meets up with Sam and learns just where the heck he is
(to some extent).

He meets up with CLU and learns that he gets to do some Light Cycle battle and
get his Light Cycle stick thing and runs off. In Light Cycle, to attack, you'll
use ribbons and weapons fire to attack the rear and front, respectively. Use Y
to switch the two, and the A Button to attack.

This is absolutely the most fun you'll have thus far - I wish Kingdom Hearts II
had it like this! The ribbon will extend from the rear and damage any enemies
that run into it - if some DANGER warning comes up, prepare to use it. If a
biker or fly-guy gets in front, switch and laser 'em. The big ol' flying
machine can't be taken down, so don't get overly worried about it.

After de-rezzing enough enemies, a big one will come up. Just laser it when it
gets in front of you. You can still Jump with B (which I did a lot) and hold
down A for continual shooting. After winning, you'll get an HP boost.

In the following scene, Riku finally opts to use his lasers to escape and meets
up with Sam, who claims he's found a way out through the Portal. If he gets
out, he can delete CLU and his dad, Flynn, can come home... He vanished in the
Grid about ten years ago, trying to hide his disc from CLU. Riku decides to
help. First, we got to meet someone in the city.

Flashback!

===============================================================================
                           Flashback: Father and Son
===============================================================================

Flynn apparently tried to get back to the real world, but couldn't because that
Portal takes so much power to operate, so it won't always be open. And it is
only opened from the outside, so Flynn got stuck. The Portal got opened for a
short time - about eight hours - when Sam got in.

But Flynn refuses to leave. Not for his own sake, but because his disc is the
master key of this world. The worlds are greatly connected, and if a malign
force like CLU escaped...

Apparently, CLU is planning something as well... Doing nothing, according to
Flynn, is the only way to foil it. Whatever.

Begin by using the nearby Save Point, then going south and grabbing the Panacea
from the chest. Grind around the area if you want, then head to the east part
of the area where a Water Barrel chest lies. Also on the east side is the boat
or whatever to the next area. Examine it and go to the city.

In the City, actually go NORTH rather than south. When you hit the northbound
rails, use the extra short one to reach a chest with a Fleeting Figment inside.
Continue on to the top and then go down along the west wall on the other side
to reach a chest with a Drop-Me-Not.

Backtrack to the entrance of the area and go south to meet up with Sam, who
wants you to kill time until he returns. As Riku says, "Glad I get to fight
more than boredom." Defeat the Nightmares and move on. Using wide-range attacks
like Circle Raid and the Dives really work well.

After the fight, Riku spots Sam carrying a limp body and being accompanied by
an unknown man. When they meet up, it turns out to be Quorra (unconscious) and
Flynn. We need to get a solar sailer apparently, so let's.

Another flashback?

===============================================================================
                          Flashback: The Stolen Disc
===============================================================================

We find that Flynn has lost his disc, the master key of this world, and Quorra,
though okay, is unconscious. Sam wants to stop CLU, but Flynn absolutely
forbids it. They shall sit and wait.

Or perhaps get a solar sailer and beat CLU to the Portal!

While on ground level, go to the northeast and open that chest for some
Confetti Candy. Go up the nearby ramp and go to the next area.

At the Docks, go along the path to the north/south fork. Go south and you'll
soon find a laser. Defeat the nearby Nightmares and use Reality Shift on the
laser, then use Flowmotion to get onto the northern wall. Open the chest for
Confetti Candy 2, then use the nearby Vanille's portal. Win without taking
damage thrice or more to get 15 DP, a Troubling Fantasy, and something else.

Go along the path from before to reach a chest with Counter Aura, then go back
to the fork and go use the other path. It is pretty uneventful. At the second
wall laser, use Reality Shift to auto-destruct it and reveal a hidden area.
Open the chest for a Shield Cookie, then use Reality Shift on the thing in
the room to unlock the doors nearby. Continue through the first door shown to
find an elevator. Use it.

Continue along another uneventful path and have two more lasers auto-destruct
to get the glass wall to shatter. Jump on down. Here, defeat the nearby
enemies, then go southeast to the Drop-Me-Not, the west side of the room for
a Balloon, and the west side of the central elevator (?) for a Potion. Go
northeast to the Save Point, then opt to board the solar sailer.

As we sail, solar-style, Flynn fixes up Quorra and speaks on what CLU is. CLU
is to Flynn as what Ansem is to Xehanort; Flynn's search for perfection and
Xehanort's quest for knowledge led to the creation of evil entities: CLU and
Ansem. We realize that another Ansem may come at any time; for, after all, it
is human to want to know more. Suddenly, it is apparent that CLU found us and
we're on a new course.

When we land, Quorra suddenly goes at Tron/Rinzler, sacrificing herself for our
cause. We decide that we need to get the disc from the Throneship.

Once you regain control, go north. At your battle, you'll find a chest with a
Hi-Potion. Continue to the northwest corner to find another chest, this one
with a Balloon. Use the special Portal and land ten attacks when linked to get
45 DP, a Lofty Fantasy, and a Royal Cake.

Go back to where you entered this Rectifier and go south. On a ledge near the
stairwell, where you get a battle, is a chest with some Block-it Chocolate. Get
to the top of the stairs and head south and off the ship on the other side,
getting the Panacea from the chest in the western alcove on the way, and the
southernmost chest with the Shield Cookie 2.

Once down the stairs, go south and open the big chest for a Peepsta Hoo
Recipe. Go north and up the stairs. Then go south along the eastern wall,
opening the chest to get a Potion. Continue south and into the next area.

At the Rectifier 2F, go down the stairs to the south and go north and open the
two chests for a Noble Figment and a Drop-Me-Not. Return to the entrance and go
north and upstairs. In the area with your first fight, you'll get a Potion.
Continue up.

At the hexagonal area, continue along the linear path towards the Save Point
and Moogle Shop. There, opt to continue to the northernmost portion of the
area and open the chest there for Confetti Candy 2. Defeat the enemies that
attack, then Reality Shift the laser screen nearby to be able to "transport"
you further north.

Open the chests up here for Block-it Chocolate 2 and Gravity Strike. Go back
now and return to the Save Point. There, Save and shop, then continue on via
the elevator into the next area. There, go south for a bit to have scene.

We find the disc that we were looking for, and also set off some security
devices, alerting Tron/Rinzler to our presence. We manage to get him off our
backs for now, so we need to head to the flight deck. Everyone is back
together and we begin to fly off towards the Portal.

When you arrive, turn around and go open that chest for a Hi-Potion. As you
go north and do some battles, on the east side is a Drop-Me-Not chest. Continue
north past the cannons (which you can Reality Shift if they're annoying) to an
open area. After a minor battle, continue north to the Save Point. Open the
nearby chest for Paint Gun (Black x10), then Save and continue north to the
next area.

As they reach the Portal, they end up finding CLU. Flynn goes on alone to
exchange banter with CLU before Riku decides to handle the fighting part of it.

===============
BOSS: Commantis
===============

This boss is unusually easy. He'll circle around the arena for a bit,
sometimes stopping. Generally, executing a combo will be able to keep you up
with him despite the motion, and he won't attack during the spin. =/

Continue hacking-and-slashing until you're prompted to use Reality Shift to
jam the boss's energy. Do so and just pretty much mash A until you win and
thereby earn more HP.

~~~
After the fight, Flynn tries to tell CLU about perfection and that it can never
be noticed. CLU almost looks like he's actually processing the information, and
there goes the foot! Ouch... Sam attacks CLU to no avail. Then Riku gets the
Keyblade ready for his strike as Flynn tells Sam and Quorra to go.
CLU kicks Flynn again and steals the disc, somehow upsets CLU, who jumps off.
Sam has to go off alone through the Portal, with Quorra of course, but without
his father... CLU tries to get into the Portal, to no avail, for Flynn absorbs
him within him, causing the both of them to warp (hopefully) off somewhere
else.
Riku is left alone with a closed Portal, contemplating about the gates between
the worlds as the Sleeping Keyhole appears and he seals it, gaining the Dual
Disc Keyblade in the process.
                                   The Rest
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After finishing both halves, we watch Axel/Lea walk around the computer rooms
of Radiant Garden/Hollow Bastion confused on the locations of the remaining
members of the Organization. Alelus, Dilan, and Even are apparently awake, but
not stable. So Axel/Lea opts to search the castle grounds, but decides not to
after it is apparent that they'd have shown up by now.

So where are they? Ienzo thinks that when one is recompleted, they return to
where the "dis-completion" occurred. And if the world they were in is not
there any longer? Traverse Town appears and they go there. But they were
"dis-completed" here! So where ARE they? Were they not completed?

So Axel/Lea decides to find them, somehow...

#############################################################################

To those who are religiously following this walkthrough (thank you!), you lack
one more world in the circular trio: the Prankster's Paradise with the highest
Combat Level thus far: 18.

Well, let's go.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                                     Sora
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On your Dive down, you'll need to pop 150 or more balloons by running into them
by the end of 1 minute and 45 seconds. Though running into them seems to
suffice pretty well, using Laser Spin in front of big groups of balloons helps
a bit.

===============================================================================
                             Prankster's Paradise
===============================================================================

Seems like Sora likes the amusement park-themed place as he arrives! We
suddenly here Jiminy Cricket, our journal-keeper in through Kingdom Hearts II,
speak about Pinocchio. Jiminy suddenly seems to have forgetten about Sora...

And then we get an explanatory flashback.

===============================================================================
                         Flashback: When Worlds Dream
===============================================================================

In Sleeping Worlds, time doesn't flow at all until the world is awakened by
sealing the Sleeping Keyhole. Thusly, familiar faces will have no memories of
you.

But in the case of Jiminy? (Remember, he was employed by King Mickey.) Well,
the dreaming worlds fill in the voids of the dream -- missing things, including
beings both malign and benevolent.

===============================================================================
                             Prankster's Paradise
===============================================================================

Back to business - we realize that this Jiminy is a sort of fake. We learn that
Jiminy told Sora to leave because of the horrid behavior of the people here,
and Pinocchio is here, too.

Another flashback?

===============================================================================
                           Flashback: Pinocchio Lies
===============================================================================

We simply watch what happens when Pinocchio lies: his wooden nose lengthens.
Heh.

But there is some truth in the story, apparently. A black-clothed man came to
him and told him to play a trick on Sora, a person unknown to either of them.

Suddenly, the Blue Fairy (the one who made Pinocchio half-real-ish) to help
him out, for the last time supposedly.

Once you regain control of Sora, you'll learn of this world's Reality Shift,
Bubble Burst. You'll sort of do a Slingshot thing, aiming bubbles at the enemy;
the less you pull back, the more powerful they are. If you succeed, the enemy
becomes a bubble which can be popped with the A Button to damage it and nearby
enemies.

After this, go east and open the chest for a Hi-Potion, then go west. Open the
trapped chest and go north for a chest with a Balloon. Then go northeast and
open Squall's (Final Fantasy VIII character) Portal if you want to borrow some
Spirits.

Now, northeast of the entrance is a loop in some path coming from the west and
turning north-northeast. Go there and open a nearby chest for an Ice Dream Cone
2. Go northeast and to the northwest side of the red thing to find a
Drop-Me-Not; do this again in the northwestern area for a Shield Cookie 2.

Go south and onto the platform there to meet up with Pinocchio; or so we think:
he transforms into a Nightmare! You'll end up fighting them all; I found using
wide-range attacks (Dives, Raids) to be useful. After the fight, Sora's HP will
increase and you'll get a Jestahocky recipe.

Afterwards, we find Pinocchio atop a tower. But how to get there?

Well, first, go southwest and under that structure for a Paint Gun (Yellow x10)
and go southeast for a Block-it Chocolate 2. Now return to where to met the
fake Pinocchio and Flo-mo along the nearby rails southward. As you pass a
tower, get on it and open the chest for a Blizzara spell.

Continue onward. At the next tower further on down the line, you'll meet
Pinocchio when you land - NOT! Another Nightmare imposter, but this one flees.
We suddenly spot Pinocchio walking on ground level, perhaps. To follow him, hit
the ground and go east and northeast to the next area.

At Windup Way, go forward, then right to find a chest with Block-it Chocolate 2
inside. Go along the linear, windy path for a bit. At the second battle, you'll
find a nearby chest with a Drop-Me-Not. At the end of the path, north of the
Save Point, is a Hi-Potion. Grab it, use the Save Point, and continue to the
next area.

There, you'll Pinocchio - the real one this time! - being attacked. Sora saves
the donkey-eared puppet and prepares for battle. His Spirits won't be in the
fight, but it is pretty easy anyways - use a lot of Dives and jump around a
bunch (you jump pretty high here) and you'll be okay. Afterwards, you'll
expectedly obtain the High Jump ability.

As we try to leave, Xemnas and the unknown black-clothed man appear (and you
get the Kingdom Hearts II Chronicle entry). Xemnas notes how Pinocchio has a
heart, and Sora mentions that that means Xemnas should be able to have one.
Then the two leave with a parting comment that suggests Sora is like a Nobody.
You'll get a Glossary entry on the Nobodies and Organization XIII, then get to
read the Kingdom Hearts II summarization.

After you regain control, go southeast and use Zack's Portal to fight; if you
win without using the X Button, you'll get 15 DP, a Vibrant Fancy, and a Royal
Cake. Open the nearby chest for Confetti Candy 2, then go clockwise around the
area for a Balloon and a Drop-Me-Not. Use Flowmotion in the big bouncy area to
reach a Rampant Fancy chest. Leave the area to the south.

In Windup Way, go back along the path. In the big room with the gears, use
Flowmotion to get to the top of the area and open up some chests for a Royal
Cake and Aerial Slam, then use the northern Special Portal - if you do three or
more Flowmotion attacks in the following battle, you will get 45 DP, a Dulcet
Fantasy, and some Treasure Goggles.

At the other end of the path, you'll suddenly find the Blue Fairy. Apparently,
Geppetto went to look for Pinocchio and got swallowed by the big whale
Monstro. (Remind anyone of Kingdom Hearts I?) She told Jiminy and Pinocchio
about this and they are looking for a way to the bottom of the sea. As Sora
puts it: "That's crazy!".

We also get a flashback.

===============================================================================
                        Flashback: In Search of Monstro
===============================================================================

We see Jiminy telling Pinocchio is crazy for wanting to go find Geppetto. And
Jiminy goes with him into the ocean.

Seriously?

Well, back to business. Go east and south to find a chest with a Hi-Potion in
it, then go north along the linear path. As you enter the tunnel, you'll find a
Portal from the Final Fantasy III Onion Knight - if you win the fight using at
least three Flo-mo attacks, you'll get 15 DP, a Rampant Fancy, and an Ice Dream
Cone 2.

Continue along the newly-dubbed Path of Linearity until you come across a frog
in a pool of water. Challenge him and I guess try to beat him... He teleported
out of the fight entirely and I got nothing (he left with around 1.5 bars of HP
left).

Continue northeast and open the chest for an Ice Dream Cone 2, then use
Flowmotion to scale the large wall to the southeast for a Water Barrel. Leave
this area to the east.

At the Ocean Floor (I SHOULD be drowning or crushed by the pressure...) you can
jump higher than before, so use that to some kind of advantage. Go north and
you'll find a Portal from Vivi - win without taking damage more than twice for
15 DP, a Noble Fantasy, and something else.

Afterwards, go along the lower path northeast of the Portal to find a Panacea
in a chest. Go along the path you fought along until you see a ledge off in the
distance. Use dual-air slides or Flowmotion to get over there, use the geyser,
and, on the other side of the ledge, grab the Lofty Fantasy. Heh.

Go back to the geyser's source and face north-northwest to find a pillar with a
chest atop it. Get over there with some air slides to reach a Paint Gun
(Sky Blue x10). Get on the manta ray to the east and ride it to a
not-yet-looted ledge with a geyser. Use said geyser to reach a ledge, then go
along to the next area.

At the Ocean Depths, use the nearby Moogle Shop and Save Point, then go along
the path. At the whirlpool, get around behind it and open the chest for a
Rampant Fancy. Use the whirlpool.

When you land, scale the southwestern wall with Flowmotion to reach a chest
with some Treasure Goggles. Go to where you began and defeat some enemies, then
repeat at the bottom. Go southeast and use the Portal to borrow some Spirits,
if you want.

Use Flowmotion to scale the nearby walls and face southeast to find a chest. Go
to it for a Royal Cake. Hit the ground and go south and around the central
structure in this area to find a big chest with a Tatsu Steed Recipe. Use the
nearby geyser and go on up, then west and along the wall path to the next area.

There, firstly you'll find a paradoxical idea WHERE SORA CAN FREAKIN' BREATHE
UNDERWATER. You'll then find Pinocchio and Jiminy doing the same while chased
by Monstro, who causes the entrance to this area to be blocked. Monstro opens
his mouth, causing a huge whirlpool to appear and such in Ponicchio and Jiminy
as a Nightmare appears, turning Monstro into stone.

=====================
BOSS: Chill Clawbster
=====================

This boss is extremely mobile and can even sort of fly. He can launch
ground-hugging lasers and jump on you, sometimes creating shockwaves. He can
also pierce his pincers into the ground to attack you. Ouch. His jumping can
also dishevel the playing field, so look out.

His weak point is his head - basically, lock-on and attack and you'll likely
hit it. Because of the mobility and speed of this beast, you'll want to have
something homing like magic or Sliding Dash. But, when the boss is flying
around, just moving, locking-on can become quite the inconvenience.

At one point, you'll be prompted to destroy the ice holding Monstro. Do so and
use Reality Shift to bubble the target on Monstro, putting him in a bubble.
Hold Up-ish on the Circle Pad and avoid the laser rings. When possible, press
the A Button to finish the lobster.

~~~
After gaining your Deck Capacity increase, you'll see Monstro reawaken and
swallow Sora, almost. Sora awakens on the beach, alone. He suddenly figures out
what happened. After that point, Pinocchio and Jiminy had their world dragged
into darkness, leaving them and Geppetto cast in the void between the worlds
along with Monstro.
Then Jiminy becomes the King's journal-keeper, and the other two are swallowed
within Monstro. You meet Jiminy when you meet Donald and Goofy, and the others
when you go inside Monstro, in Kingdom Hearts I.
Soon, the Sleeping Keyhole appears and Sora seals it, gaining the Ferris Gear
Keyblade.
goal. Easy.
_____________________________________________________________________________
When you arrive, you find yourself inside Monstro. Seem familiar, Riku? You
also hear Geppetto crying for his puppet/son Pinocchio.
Once gain control, go west and grab the Hi-Potion, then go east and Flo-mo onto
the ledge for a Paint Gun (Blue x10). Flo-mo to the west for an Ice Dream Cone
2, northeast to a Balloon, and onto the roof of the boat for a Panacea. Get
onto the ship itself to shop and save. Use the nearby Special Portal and win in
less than twenty seconds for 45 DP, a Vibrant Fantasy, and something else.
Go speak with Geppetto on the boat to learn that Pinocchio is missing because
he freely ran off. Gee, nostalgia. Riku gladly offers to help and then speaks
with Jiminy (who doesn't remember him because of the whole dream thing) and
learns that a man in a black coat went off with Pinocchio! Jiminy decides to
come along with Riku.
When you regain control, save if you want, then go north to the next area. As
"north" can be strictly defined in a whale; it is better than saying "go
towards the butt".
In the Gullet, go northeast and in the corner on ground level to find a chest
with a Hi-Potion, then go west and use Zack's Portal - if you win in less than
twenty seconds, you'll get 15 DP, a Noble Fancy, and some Block-it Chocolate 2.
Afterwards, go north from the southwest corner (where the chest is a BIG FAT
PHONY!) and hug the western wall to find a Shield Cookie 2 chest.
Now scale the western wall and use the Reality Shift on the barrel, then float
in the air southeast to a chest, which contains a Charming Fantasy. Then go
back to the first barrel and get on the northeastbound wire to your north. Open
the big chest you reach for a Sir Kyroo Recipe.
Hit the ground and go southwest for minor fight, then go northeast and into the
big pit. Defeat some enemies down here and open the chest nearby for some
Treasure Goggles. Jump on the big stump to return to the top western edge of
the pit, then use Flowmotion to cross the wire and defeat some enemies.
Ignore the entrance to the next area and go along the eastern path. Defeat some
enemies as you progress towards the end, collecting a Shield Cookie 2 from a
chest. At the end, scale the wall with Flowmotion to grab a chest with Mini
inside. Backtrack to the entrance to the new area and go on through.
Here, you'll meet with Pinocchio and the black-cloaked man, who lets Pinocchio
go. As Pinocchi and Jiminy chat, the man takes off his hood, revealing him to
be... Riku!? After he leaves, Riku comments on this as you receive the
Chronicle entry for Kingdom Hearts: (Re:)Chain of Memories. Suddenly, something
happens or crashes or something. Read the Chronicle so we can move on.
Once you regain control, use the nearby Save Point and go north. Use the Portal
if you want some Spirits, then smack the thing to flip the room. Go east and
along the path to the tall wall. Go east and flip the room with the thing
there, then open the chest for a Drop-Me-Not.
Leave this small room and go south to find some Block-it Chocolate 2. Go north
and into the small room there. Reflip the area and go south and out to find
the Confetti Candy 2, then re-enter and get on the upper ledge. Open the chest
for a Collision Magnet. Go to ground level and north into the next area.
Here in Monstro's Cavity, go northwest and use the Portal if you need some
Spirits, then scale the wall with Flowmotion north of there to reach a Panacea.
Go north on ground level and smack the bulbous thing to mess with the platforms
here.
Go southeast, open the chest for a Confetti Candy 2, and smack that thing to
mess with the gravity. Go into the central water pit and open the chest for a
Royal Cake. Scale the walls or something and make your way to the orange dot
on the northern path of the map. Smack that bulbous thing.
After gravity re-re-affixes itself, go along the linear path to the north (oh,
no, are we in the intestines!?) and do battle as you continue. Close to the end
is a fork. Go along the western dead-end path (the appendix?) and open the
chest for a Water Barrel, then go along the other path towards ... you know.
Open the chest for a Drop-Me-Not, save, and go north to the next area.
There, you'll meet up with some weird things that attack you, then have a
direct, and close, encounter with the Char Clawbster.
====================
BOSS: Char Clawbster
====================
A pretty easy fight, this boss will mostly just move rapidly and occasionally
launch projectiles at you. You can pretty much just chase it down, do a lot of
damage, and chase it down again. Using Reality Shift really helps in grounding
this thing so you can use a bunch of Dives and such. Using magic or Dashes can
help you keep up.
~~~

After obtaining your HP bonus, we find Geppetto happy to be reunited with
Pinocchio. Riku comments on how it seems odd that he went into the past on
the Destiny Islands, and it didn't end there. Apparently, it has something to
do with the world being free from, but not awakened, from the sleeping
darkness, trapped in endless slumber and dreams.

Suddenly, the Sleeping Keyhole appears and Riku seals it, gaining the Ocean's
Rage Keyblade in the process.

For once, a unique gain!

We take a peek back in Yen Sid's tower where Donald and Goofy are commenting on
Sora and Riku's new journey. Meanwhile, something worries Mickey - a raven.

Maleficent's raven, and it has Queen Minnie's tiara and a note - it seems that
Maleficent has kidnapped Queen Minnie, and Mickey has no choice but to return
to Disney Castle, and Donald and Goofy go with him, leaving Yen Sid to his
lonesome.

Once Sora arrives, he finds it weird that he is back here, as if he didn't
choose this locale. He finds that Joshua has been waiting for him, and Riku is
here too. But in the other half. Anyways, it seems that if Neku's group wants
to return to their world, they need to win the Reapers' Game - a set of
missions - and they need Sora's and Riku's help.

Once you regain control, go to the northwestern corner of the area for a Shield
Cookie, and just east of the north-central bit to find some Block-it Chocolate.
Go to the east-central alcove for a Potion. Go to the south side of the area
and you can enter the Garden.

There, go northeast and open the chest for a Royal Cake, and go around the
corner from the bottom of the ramp to get some Confetti Candy, then open the
chest at the far northern portion of the area for a Drop-Me-Not. Scale the
eastern wall with Flowmotion to get a Rampant Figment. Finally, leave the
area and go southeast outside, too.

Here in the Fourth District, scale the northern wall to reach the ledge above
the entrance of the Flick Rush thing and you'll find a special Portal. Win the
battle without using the X Button to get 40 DP, a Vibrant Fantasy, and a Royal
Cake. Then make your way west to the purple lit-up area and scale to get on
the roof behind the building where you can get a Water Barrel from a chest.
Then go south for a bit to the Fountain Plaza.

There, you'll find Neku and Shiki fighting some Nightmares, and not exactly
winning until Sora saves them. The fight isn't exceptionally difficult; not
much more so than the other fights around here. After winning, you'll get the
Sliding Sidewinder. During a quick scene, we find that the Nightmare has gone
to Riku's half of the world.

Once you regain control, head along the linear path to the Post Office. There,
ride the green rail and jump as it turns south to the brown rail and head east
to the First District via the elevator. On the way, head into the northeast
corner of the area and use the Slingshot to knock down some boxes and get a
chest.

Once you arrive, go to the northern part of the area and get on the wooden
overhang to find a chest with an Ice Dream Cone. Then head southwest into the
alley to find a Potion. Then go southeast to the Third District through the
big door.

Note that I think you might be able to reach the Second District. Go there for
a Balloon (top of building to the northeast; use Flowmotion to scale), a
Hi-Potion (go north to the clock tower), and a Confetti Candy (go east onto a
lower level). THEN head to the Third District.

There, it seems Riku did his job and brought the main Nightmare over. And it's
a big boss.

===============
BOSS: Spellican
===============

It isn't really Spellican you're fighting, but just old bosses it springs up.
You'll fight the Hockomonkey, Wargoyle (I think), and the Char Clawbster in
that order. Consult earlier strategies for further details.

During the fight, by the way, scale the ledge north of the entrance to the
area with Flowmotion to find a Vibrant Fantasy chest.

~~~
After that fight, Spellican flees yet again, leaving Traverse Town for now.
Sora decides to go after it and then seals a Sleeping Keyhole, gaining the
Knockout Punch Keyblade in the process.
When Riku arrives, he wonders why he's back here, then meets up with Joshua.
He learns that Sora's here and why he is here. They need to get rid of a
world-jumping, strong summoning Nightmare - Beat and Rhyme are having trouble.
They need to reach the Fountain Plaza to find it. We also learn that the two
Traverse Towns are distinct worlds, in theory; at least, time runs differently.
Once you regain control, use Flowmotion to get on top of the northwestern
overhang for a Rampant Fantasy, then go south and west on ground level to find
a Potion in the alley. Go between the poles near where you arrived to find a
Portal from Locke (Final Fantasy VI character) - win using three or more
Flowmotion attacks to get 10 DP, a Rampant Figment, and some Confetti Candy.
Then go west to the Back Streets.
Here, go along the path to where you walk under a bridge and the Save Point is
in view on the map to the north. Scale the walls with Flowmotion to get on the
bridge, then go north and along to the next area. Use the Save Point as you do.
Here in Fountain Plaza, go along the path to the fountain itself. There, you
find Beat and Rhyme fighting the Nightmare with no success. We just simply
talk with the big Nightmare nearby... Regardless, it is rather humorous and
eventually, the big bird screams and summons some Nightmares. You get stuck
with Big Bird while Beat and Rhyme take care of the small fries.
Go along the path back across the area to the Back Streets. As you get to the
bridge, it flees further down the road, sending a swarm of Nightmares at you.
Slay 'em and move on - Flowmotion and wide-range attacks will make it easy
to slay them all in about a minute. Winning nets you an HP increase, new drop
bonuses, and a Cara Terror Recipe.
Joshua comes and tells you to head to the Third District so we can pit the
Big Bird between worlds and almost guarantee its destruction. Continually
backtrack there: back to the First District, north to the Second, and east
through the alleyway to the Third District. As you prepare to finish it, it
goes to the other Traverse Town to let Sora handle it.
Yeah, I THOUGHT we did this already - seal the Sleeping Keyhole. You end up
getting the Knockout Punch Keyblade for your efforts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We watch Mickey, Donald, and Goofy encounter Maleficent and Pete in Disney
Castle and barter for Queen Minnie's life. In exchange, Maleficent wants to
have Disney Castle, initially.

It becomes apparent that Maleficent's evil desires extended beyond Radiant
Garden as a result of meeting Xehanort, and set her doing what she did in
Kingdom Hearts I. She then speaks about the "data" of the worlds found in the
Kingdom Hearts I journal in Kingdom Hearts (Re:)Coded.

Suddenly, Maleficent attacks and two Chakrams appear from the darkness to
protect them. Minnie uses Pearl to escape, then the tables seem to have been
turned. Maleficent and Pete flee while Lea, as it is confirmed he is, meets up
with them.

We receive a Glossary entry on the Seven Princesses of Heart, and receive a
Chronicle entry summarizing Kingdom Hearts (Re:)Coded.

So, after finishing Traverse Town again, we end up unlocking two more worlds.
Let's go to the Country of the Musketeers -- which is France, I believe --
because it has a lower Combat Level by eight.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                                     Sora
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When Sora dives, you'll need to get 500 or more Prize Points, which is quite
easy.

===============================================================================
                           Country of the Musketeers
===============================================================================

When you start, you find Donald, Mickey, and Goofy facing off against a
Nightmare, with all but Mickey fleeing, and Sora left to slay the Nightmare and
wonder why those three don't remember him. Apparently, though, Mickey is under
the guise of a Musketeer, as are Donald and Goofy, to solve some kind of
problem. Sora is only dazed further and, as Mickey is about to explain some
more, Nightmares attack!

You'll first learn about this world's Reality Shift, Wonder Comic: follow the
directions on-screen to deal with it. As for the fight itself, it's very easy
given the openness of the area. Just take 'em on one at a time.

After the fight, everyone groups together and stuff from the The Three
Musketeers really seems to simmer through - Sora gets left behind, much like
D'Artagnan did for not being a Musketeer. Heh, I guess even Disney has a mild
sense of actual humor. Sora does eventually word his way into the group and
they do "the thing".

You also a get a flashback.

===============================================================================
                       Flashback: Overnight Musketeers
===============================================================================

We see Pete grant Mickey, Goofy, and Donald the duty of becoming Musketeers,
and their first mission becomes guarding Minnie. They do "the thing" as the
scene closes.

_____________________________________________________________________________

Once you regain control, go to the southeast corner of the area and grab the
Mega-Potion, then upstairs and to the southwest corner for an Ice Dream Cone 2.
Then go north along the ground to find a Paint Gun (Sky Blue x10). Go east and
use the Save Point and Moogle Shop, then speak with Mickey to go to the next
area.

We watch as a Nightmare rushes at Princess Minnie's carriage, and Sora is left
to deal with the thing. The fight is pretty easy: back up and block any
fireballs that come by, and physically strike the beast when possible. As a
reward for winning, you'll get the Tyranto Rex Recipe.

Afterwards, we find three thugs, quickly disabling Sora and taking Minnie with
them. Crap. At least we met up with the other three guys. We later come upon
the carriage, but it is empty. So where is Princess Minnie? No choice but to
chase down the other guys and THEN go searching...

Once you regain control, use the nearby Save Point. Go east if you need some
Spirits - you'll borrow them from Zack. Go south and along the path. Once you
reach a battle, scale the wall on the left and open the chest up there for a
Shield Cookie 2. Then scale the cliff north of there with Flowmotion to get a
Firaga spell.

Continue along the path to the bridge. As you approach go left and down the
ledges. After the quick fight there, open the chest for a Dream Candy. Begin
crossing the bridge to the next area.

In the next area, go along the path up the stairs. Once you reach the blockade,
jump over it and grab the Drop-Me-Not on the other side. From here, you can
also see a chest in a cage on the other side of the tower. Go grab it and the
Treasure Goggles within. Continue upstairs.

At the top, you'll find an Ice Dream Cone 2 to the north. Go up the stairs to
the east and you'll meet with the three Beagle Boys - the thugs that took
Minnie. They're not that hard to beat - a miniboss at best - so just take them
on as you would regular Nightmares.

Afterwards, it seems that we've gotten Princess Minnie back safely, all thanks
to Sora, and yet, Mickey gets the girl. =/ The Beagle Boys seem to want
another piece of you, and we're all to happy to please them. Goofy seems to
have quite the successful idea, and it works amazingly.

That night, as we return into the town, Goofy spots someone in the distance.
Sora tries following, then Mickey stops him, then Donald flees in another
direction. According to Donald, Captain Pete is going to kidnap Minnie - and
he apparently didn't make them official Musketeers. As Donald hits the welfare
list and leaves, we here Pete cackling in the distance. Suddenly, he comes by
and summons some Nightmares for Sora to deal with, and Mickey deals with Pete.

Suddenly, a Nightmare knocks Sora unconscious and he is awakened later by
Donald and Goofy. Apparently, Mickey got taken to a drowning dungeon. We all
decide to rush there and save Mickey.

When you regain control, go north to the next area, saving and shopping if you
need to. Head to the shore.

At the Shore, go along the linear path for a bit. At the part where two paths
run west parallel to get each other, use the southern one to find a tunnel
leading to a chest with a Paint Gun (Blue x10).

Once you reach the shoreline, go south to the Special Portal. There, if you
win the fight without using the X Button, you'll get 50 DP, a Grim Fantasy, and
a Royal Cake. I also received a Halbird Recipe, but I'm not sure if that wasn't
just an enemy item drop. At the northeastern part of the beach, you'll also
find a Dream Candy chest. After grabbing it, go southwest and use the boat to
head to the island.

At Mont Saint-Michel, go north, then west down an alley when possible. Go along
the path to the end, then Flo-mo scale the wall to the Fleeting Fantasy chest.
Go back to where you turned west and continue north. As you reach the northeast
corner, you can get a chest with some Royal Cake inside.

Scale the wall to the Save Point and go south. At the stairs, jump over the
edge to find a chest in the corner; open it for a Hi-Potion. Scale to the
rooftops to reach the Portal. First, go south and into a semi-hidden alcove to
find a Sparkga chest. At the Portal, win without using the X Button to get
20 DP, a Wonderous Fancy, and an Ice Dream Cone 2. Make your way north to the
Save Point, use it, and go northwest to the next area.

Here, go along the path to the prison room. Here, break down the door of the
second cell from the left, then proceed east to the chest in a similar manner.
Open it for a Block-it Chocolate 3, then activate Vanille's nearby Portal; win
using at least ten attacks when linked to get 20 DP, a Fleeting Fancy, and some
Royal Cake.

Use the obvious way into the northern cells, then go west and north into a
tunnel. Cross the gap to the chest and open it for Sonic Blade. Then go back
to where you entered this room and break down the obstruction to the west. Go
west and open the two chests in this small room for some Royal Cake and a
Fleeting Fancy.

Return to the prison area and leave it to the west by normal means. As you
run into a battle after heading downstairs, remember to strike down the crates
to get at the chest with the Water Barrel. Go along the linear path.

You'll soon run into a pretty nasty Nightmare battle. And by nasty, I mean the
sewage around you; the battle is barely any harder than the others around here.
If you need to reach the enemies on the higher platforms, I suggest using
Flowmotion off of the walls and attacking. Regardless, when you win, you'll get
Slide Roll.

Continue along the path and downstairs. When you go downstairs, turn south and
destroy those boxes to get the chest with the Chef Kyroo Recipe. Continue to
the end of the path and opt to climb on down.

In the next area, you'll find Mickey drowning underwater, but soon saved by
Donald, Goofy, and Sora from what was a certain death. As they continue
speaking before leaving to save Minnie, you may remember the background theme
from the Olympus Coliseum. What is it doing here? :)

Luckily for us, we automatically make our way towards the opera house where
Minnie is being held captive. Well, part way. You just have to walk forward
a few steps, examine the horses, and opt to go there. You can head to the
training yard to save and shop, y'know.

When you arrive, you find that the Beagle Boys are taking Minnie inside in a
treasure chest. Once you regain control, go east and north to a Block-it
Chocolate 2, then further north to a Drop-Me-Not (and a trapped chest). I think
that is it for here. Before going into the opera house to the north, consider
using Zidane's (Final Fantasy IX character) Portal south of the entrance.

Inside, go west and use Vaan's Portal and win without taking damage more than
twice to receive 20 DP, a Fleeting Fantasy, and a Shield Cookie 2. Save and
shop back near the entrance, then go north. Go up two floors, then to the north
side of the area for Block-it Chocolate 2 in a chest.

Go around south to get a Mega-Potion, then go down to the first floor. Go to
the eastern staircase and air slide your way to the opposite ledge. Go along
the path there for an Ice Dream Cone 3. Leave the ledge and grab the nearby
chest with a Hi-Potion, then head west and north to the next area.

There, you'll find Minnie saved. Apparently, Pete tries to launch a crate onto
the quartet as Sora comes in. Riku saves them and Sora tells everyone to leave
so he can take on Pete, who brings along the Beagle Boys.

==============================
BOSS: Pete and the Beagle Boys
==============================

Sounds like some weird boy band. :P

You'll first end up dealing with the Beagle Boys. They're easy enough to finish
off - I dealt out one dual-link with Meow Wow and someone else and had those
guys finished in mere seconds. After their HP runs out, use Reality Shift to
get rid of them.

Once they're gone, Pete comes in. He can attack with his rapier, throw some
fireballs, and cause some thing from above to swing around. Using blocks will
deal with the rapier; Dashes REALLY are good are avoiding the fireballs; and
general dodging helps avoid the swinging thing. After that, you simply need to
deplete Pete's HP and use Reality Shift to get rid of him.

~~~
When you win, Sora will have his Deck Capacity increased. After the fight, more
Olympus Coliseum plays and Princess Minnie officially and truly makes the four
of them Musketeers as they do "the thing".
As Sora is alone in the training field, he ends up sealing the Sleeping
Keyhole and also receives the All for One Keyblade.
                                     Riku
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On your Dive down, you'll have to beat the Brawlamari. Just dodge its attacks
until the eyes get close, then poke them out. The hardest attack to dodge is
the laser shield, which you actually need to air brake to avoid hitting. That
finishes the first half.

In the second, continue dodging similar attacks until its petal-thing opens.
The only real thing to be worried about is the one where the rocks come; I do
not think you can dodge that laser shield unless you're behind the rocks...

When Riku lands in colonial France, I assume, he finds Pete in front of the
opera house. Riku correctly predicts that there's trouble abrewing.

Anywho, once you regain control, go east and grab the Panacea chest, then go
far north and open the two chests to get a battle and some Dream Candy. Head
far to the west to get a Hi-Potion, then go east and north into the building.

Inside, go west and use Vaan's Portal; if you win without being damaged more
than twice, you'll get 20 DP, a Fleeting Fancy, and a Shield Cookie 2. Go into
the southwest corner and open the chest for Confetti Candy 2, then use the
Save Point and Moogle Shop.

Head north and use the stairs to reach the top floor. Go to the north side and
open the chest for a Mega-Potion, and then circle around to the south for a
Water Barrel. Go back to the first floor and head to the east downbound
staircase. Jump and air slide across the gap to the ledge, then go along the
path to a chest, which contains a Royal Cake.

Go back over the ledge, defeat some enemies, then go along the western
northbound path to reach the next area.

There, Riku will end up walking on-stage to find the Beagle Boys carrying wood
facsimiles of Mickey and the gang and how he plans to get rid of them. Ouch...
Riku finds the goonies leaving and follows.

Once you regain control, go southwest and use Zack's Portal; if you win in less
than 20 seconds, you'll get 20 DP, a Wondrous Fancy, and a Block-it Chocolate 2
all for your own. Also open the chest near the Portal for a Balloon. Then go
to the northeast corner of the stage and open that chest for a Confetti Candy
2. Go south and east and leave.

Backstage, go east and north along the ground to get a Mega-Potion, then use
the stairs to reach a Portal from Celes (Final Fantasy VI character who was
involved in an opera in that game!) that will give you some Spirits. Go west
and Riku will end up finding a shaking chest, inside which is Princess Minnie.

She thanks you and heads off to help the Musketeers. Riku offers to help and
as they chat, we get caught by the Beagle Boys. We learn what to grab and also
get a flashback.

===============================================================================
                       Flashback: Bon Journey, Princess
===============================================================================

We watch Pete, the Captain of Minnie's knights, exchange mild banter with her
and completely unfolds his plan before Minnie. Basically, he gets a fake
Minnie to name him king, and only the Musketeers can stop him, but they'll be
dealt with in the spotlight.

And then she gets into the chest, unwillingly, as Pete leaves, cackling.

When you regain control, go forward and smash the gas-spewing device that will
make you drop faster. Go east and open the chest for a Hi-Potion, then continue
east and smash another gas device. Go north and open the chest for a
Drop-Me-Not.

Go northeast of the southern exit and you'll find a thing with arrows around
it. Flo-mo into the wall, then to the pole, to reveal one of the Beagle Boys.
Beat the crap out of him, then go north and use Flowmotion to get onto the
higher northern ledge. There, go along the path and beat down the fake wall to
reveal a chest, which happens to contain a Ducky Goose Recipe.

Now, go to the ground and to the other platform connected by a rope. Scale to
it, then go north and open the chest for an Ice Dream Cone 2. Then go south and
open the chest along the path to find a Mega-Potion. Continue into the next
area.

In the Green Room, go along to the Save Point. Use it and break down the nearby
fake wall, then open the chests for Stop, a Drop-Me-Not, and Confetti Candy 3.
Go west now, and west at the fork. Destroy the gas machine, and use Zack's
Portal to get some Spirits, if you want.

Go south to the next room and, there, attack the clothes to reveal a chest
containing a Fleeting Fantasy. Go east and repeat for a Prickly Fantasy. Do it
once more to find a Beagle Boy. Whip 'im and move on. Backtrack to the
east/south fork and, on the way, break down a fake door to find a chest with
some Treasure Goggles.

Go along the southern branch to a big open room. Jump down to the gas machine
and obliterate it. Behind a northwesten pillar, you'll find a Hi-Potion, then
break down one of the doors nearby to find the final Beagle Boy. Defeat him
and you'll receive the Stage Gadget.

As you go back to use the gadget, you get attacked by a Nightmare.

=================
BOSS: Holey Moley
=================

First, open the southwestern chest for a Drop-Me-Not, and scale the boxes
northeast of there for a Fleeting Fantasy. Go northeast to find a Staggerceps
Recipe, and northwest to find a Dream Candy surrounded, practically. Then
ascend the northwestern castle to find a Royal Candy.

As for the boss, he doesn't really attack much at all from my experience. Just
attack, I guess. If he splits up, go for his head.

~~~
After winning, Riku's HP increases and you get Shadow Slide and Shadow Strike.
Shadow Slide allows you to warp behind an enemy as it attacks when you're
locked-on, akin to Sephiroth in previous Kingdom Hearts games. Shadow Strike
lets you attack as you come in. Both are Riku-only.
After the fight, Minnie rushes Riku to fix the machine to our own benefits, and
does so successfully not a second too soon. Riku chats with Minnie for a bit
before unlocking the Sleeping Keyhole, thereby receiving the All for One
Keyblade.
It seems Mickey, Goofy, and Donald brought Lea back to Yen Sid's tower. It
becomes apparent the Mark of Mastery exam is not going as planned because of
Xehanort's interference, and that the whole of Organization XIII have returned
to their human forms - that includes Xehanort.
And apparently Lea is going something not entirely easy... But what?
fairly easy, as usual.
===============================================================================
                              Symphony of Sorcery
===============================================================================
Once Sora arrives, we find Mickey exhibiting his magical prowess, to Sora's
complete amazement. Then a Nightmare comes and knocks Sora out. Man, this is
happening a lot lately!
Sora awakens in Yen Sid's tower, but obviously the Sleeping World one - his
clothes didn't change, but he doesn't notice. He turns around to find Mickey
sitting in the chair enveloped in darkness, as is his music book. Sora attacks
the latter to no avail - unless self-inflicted pain was his goal.
Suddenly, Mickey telekinetically speaks with him, in wonder at Sora's Keyblade
and wonders who is his master. Sora finds out the obvious and asks Mickey how
he can help, but the book is possessed and no one can get it. We find that the
Nightmare is the Spellican from Traverse Town, and ask how to get a Sound Idea
to help Mickey.
Suddenly, another book pops up - apparently, within, you can find a way to
banish the darkness. But it, too, has some Nightmares within. You'll learn
about this world's Reality Shift, Melody Catcher - touch notes when the rings
around them close, and drag the notes along the bars.
As for the flashback?
We watch Mickey bring the buckets of water in as part of his training under
and does a bit of magic.
In the background, we see Spellican ride in, too...
Once you regain control, use the nearby Save Point and Moogle Shop, then leave
the area to the south.
Go downstairs and behind their base to the south. Open the chest for a Dream
Candy, then continue out of the area.
Investigate the grounds to find an Elixir to the east, and a Block-it
Chocolate 3 to the west. To the far west is a Portal from Zidane; use it and
win in 20 seconds or less to win 25 DP, a Grim Fantasy, and a Block-it
Chocolate 3. Afterwards, backtrack to where Mickey is and head into the book.
Inside, at the Cloudwalk - yay, more physics-defying acts! - go along the
linear path for a bit. At the end, on a rock, is a weird spewing fountain. Use
Reality Shift on it so we can continue. Scale to the top of the big cliff
nearby and go across to the chest to the east, which contains Glide!
Remember the cliff we scaled? Return there and use the Special Portal - win
using at least three Flowmotion attacks to get 55 DP. a Grim Fantasy, and some
Royal Cake. I also ended up with a Pegaslick Recipe, but that may have been an
enemy drop.
Go west while gliding from the cliff to reach a chest with some Treasure
Goggles. Northeast of there, on a small ledge, is a chest with an Ice Dream
Cone 3. Go north along the path. At one point, you can opt to get either
northeast or southeast. Go southeast a little and scale the cliffs with
Flowmotion to reach a cloud; open the chests there for an Elixir and a Paint
Gun (White x10).
Glide west of there to find a chest with an Intrepid Fantasy atop a cloud.
Scale the cliff nearby with Flowmotion, then glide onto the big northern cloud,
then go southeast to a chest with a Prism Windmill. Go southeast onto the rock
ledge and use Reality Shift on the thing there. Continue southeast. On your
way down the ledges, be sure to grab the Mega-Potion.
Go back northeast, then ride the rainbow northwest so you can easily continue
on to the next area to the north.
Here in Glen, when you go forward, you'll find yourself in an updraft. Go east
and open the big chest for Tornado. Then make your way to the far west - avoid
the blue stones on the way that REALLY hurt - and use Reality Shift on the
music thing to get rid of the updraft. Hit the ground and go to the northwest
corner to find an Ice Dream Cone 3.
Work your way east and south near the cave where you entered. Open the nearby
chest for a Mega-Potion, then use the nearby Portal from Laguna (character in
Final Fantasy VIII) if you need some Spirits. I didn't though - I'd been using
the same three since the start and they have about TWICE the level of Sora and
Riku. ^_^
Head to the far east and use the mini-tornado to get on the ledge so we can
continue. Go along the linear path and, at once point, near the second fight
you get into, you can scale the wall with Flowmotion to reach a chest with a
Royal Cake. Continue along to the Save Point; use it and continue to the next
area.
In the Fields, go north for a bit, then northeast when the storm starts and,
somewhere in the southeast/east-central area is a music thing. Use Reality
Shift on it to bring back the sunlight. West of there, you find a chest with a
Block-it Chocolate 3. Go southeast of the music thing and scale the cliff with
Flowmotion to reach a chest with an Electricorn Recipe.
Then go northwest and north to run into another storm. Go east from the small
building and scale the cliff to reach a chest with a Panacea. Go up the ledge
behind it and use Reality Shift on the music thing to bring back the day once
again.
Go northeast to the ground and use the Portal from Squall; win the fight using
at least three Flowmotion attacks to get 25 DP, a Wondrous Fancy, and a
Block-it Chocolate 3. Go southwest and grab the Mega-Potion, then go
west-northwest and along the dirt path to find a big chest; open this for a
Triple Plasma.
Go back east into the open field, then head northeast and north along the
linear dirt path to find something. The unknown black-hoodeed man comes up,
speaking of how easy it is to slip into slumber. As Sora withdraws the
Keyblade, the man speaks of how beautiful the world is, like a dream.
Sora questions as to why he's being followed, to no avail. Apparently, he is
NOT part of the examination. As he leaves, the Sound Idea glows and comes into
Sora. He returns to the tower and brings it forth. Sora uses the Keyblade to
activate it. However, it seems to have no effect.
Suddenly, Riku's Sound Idea comes forth and picks up the slack, then the book
gets depossessed. So Sora decides to head into the book and defeat the
Nightmare, gaining Double Impact in the process. Save and shop, then go into
the northwestern book.
Inside, Spellican appears, then runs off, with you following.
===============
BOSS: Spellican
===============
The fight begins with you running around a figure-eight track after Spellican.
Continually press the Y Button to try and catch up. Dodge any attack that
comes your way by jumping - otherwise, you'll take damage, which won't be
healed until the second half of the battle. The attacks consist of poisonous
bubbles and a rock that comes at you. Once you catch up, continue pressing Y
until you ram 'im.
The second half has Spellican using a variety of attacks, including lightning,
star-throwing, and an extendable sword. Here, the use of your Dash attacks is
greatly useful in catching up with the teleporting Spellican. The use of any
attack that inflicts Zero Gravity is EXTREMELY useful in stopping his attacks
for a fair while as well.
~~~

After the fight, it seems Mickey is quite okay, awakened by his spirit self.
He takes off the cap and thanks Sora.

Then he remembers the water barrels from before and leaves. Suddenly, the
Sleeping Keyhole appears and Sora unlocks it, gaining the Counterpoint

When Riku dives in, you'll have to defeat 30 enemies in 80 seconds, which is
very easy towards the end, where you have Mega Flare and large groups of
enemies to contend with.

Riku arrives to find Yen Sid's tower floor covered in water from upstairs. You
will soon regain control. Go north and grab the chest (Water Barrel), then
leave the area to the south.

Outside, go east and open the chest for a Dream Candy, then go west a bit to
find a Special Portal. Win the fight using three counterattacks to get 55 DP,
an Intrepid Fantasy, and a Royal Cake. Open the chest west of the Portal to get
more Royal Cake - it seems that Square Enix doesn't know anything about eating
healthy. :)

Return inside the tower and head upstairs. There, you find it even more
flooded - something apparently happened while Mickey entered sleep caused by
the dark book. Riku prepares to attack the book, but Mickey warns that it
won't work as you unlock a flashback. The two introduce themselves and Mickey
says that, to help him, Riku needs to find a Sound Idea.

A book appears with a Sound Idea inside.

We watch as Mickey screws around with some magic in a continuation of the
flashback we viewed as Sora. He makes some broom come to life -- remind anyone
of Final Fantasy I? -- and has it do his work. And it works, sort of. Mickey
slowly falls into a slumber and... Well, you connect the lines.

As Mickey awakens from nearly drowning, he finds that the brooms have rebelled
and started flooding the tower. He tries stopping them, and we see Spellican
fly off in the distance,

Once you regain control, shop and save, then go into the book.

Once inside the Moonlight Wood, go along the path to a battle. After ending it,
look around and open the two chests to get a Mega-Potion and a Shield Cookie 3.
And does anyone recognize that music? I think it is from the Nutcracker. Heh.
Anyways, near the Mega-Potion chest, use the Reality Shift on the music thing.

Continue along. Once you see a spot with the Portal on the map, go southwest
and open the chest for a Confetti Candy 3. Scale the nearby tree with some
Flowmotion and open the chest at the top for an Intrepid Fancy. Use Laguna's
(Final Fantasy VIII character) Portal and win without being damaged more than
twice to receive 25 DP, a Fleeting Fancy, and an Ice Dream Cone 2.

Return to where the Portal was and head eastward from the platform to find a
Zero Graviza chest. Head west to an unvisited portion of the forest to find a
chest with a Drop-Me-Not. Head southwest and you'll find a frog like the one
that challenged Sora in Prankster's Paradise. Beat it if you can. It seems to
just be a continuation of that fight, so, yeah... Winning will net you an HP
boost, new drop bonuses, and a Lord Kyroo Recipe. I didn't list them here,
since the thing seems to move from world to world...

After the fight, continue along the main path and you'll soon reach what is a
supposeable dead-end. Go northeast and open the chest for a Paint Gun
(Green x10) and use Reality Shift on the musical thing to open a path. Head
south to the next area afterwards.

In the Golden Wood, go north to the Save Point, then head northwest to find a
Portal from Laguna, if you want to borrow some Spirits. Northeast of the Save
Point, you can find a Paint Gun (Red x10). Scale the wall behind it with
Flowmotion to reach another musical thing. Reality Shift the crap out of it.

Air slide southwest to find an Elixir in a chest. Scale the tree to get to the
leaf platforms above, then head north and you'll find a chest with a Ryu Dragon
Recipe. Go south, far east, and scale the trunk to find a chest with an
Intrepid Fantasy. Go to the southern leaves and ride the vine to the other
ledge. Open the chest there (Mega-Potion) and continue into the next area.

At the Snowgleam Wood, follow the linear path to the lake. There, head to the
lone island and use Reality Shift on the music thing to make another ice floe
appear. Go along the new icy path that appears. When you reach the open area
as you turn south, get off and open the chest for a Block-it Chocolate 3.

Continue along the icy rail. At the gap, jump over and open the chest for a
Dulcet Fancy. At the lake, defeat the enemies, then look to the northeast to
see a chest. Air slide over to it and open it for some Treasure Goggles. Now
head to the ice floe in the middle of the lake and use Reality Shift on it.

Now use Flowmotion to scale the south-central wall of the lake and open the
chest atop it to find an Ice Barrage. Cross the aerial snowflakes and continue
along the path that way to the northeast. After riding the ice, you'll find an
Ice Dream Cone 3 in front of you and to the left.

Continue along the path to find a Portal from Bartz (Final Fantasy V
character) - win the fight while blocking at least attacks to win 25 DP, a
Lofty Fancy, and a Shield Cookie 3. Backtrack your way to the second icy lake -
the one with the aerial snowflakes - and leave via the eastern path.

Use the Save Point you soon reach and head almost due east to find a Confetti
Candy 3 chest behind a tuft of grass. Further ahead, you'll find the Sound
Idea, which becomes a part of Riku.

You also get enveloped by darkness and fall endlessly towards a charred
wasteland. There, you'll meet the unknown black-clothed man again near a
volcano. The man notes how Riku, somehow, had the Keyblade first and had it
taken away from him when he gave into the darkness in his heart. His mistakes
end up being other people's problems; Riku says he is here to change that.

The man also acknowledges Riku's skill in trapping the darkness inside his
heart - and, thusly, Riku is useless to "them". But who are "they"? Before you
get a precise explanation, you meet with the bat-winged creature Sora fought in
Kingdom Hearts I as he was in the End of the World!

===============
BOSS: Chernabog
===============

This battle takes place in a Dive Mode format - basically, the A Button is
attack, Y is block, and B is slow down. There isn't any kind of magic, and it
is unlikely you'll be healed, so take care.

Chernabog tends to favor using fire pillars as you fall - slow down and dodge
them. He also can use fireballs, which can be blocked or dodged. He may also
toss some kind of weird cloth on you - it drains your HP, so shake it off!!

At the end of the path, you'll be close enough to attack. Do so and you'll soon
be smacked back and this will all repeat until you smack it three times. If you
have trouble surviving, try repeatedly attacking to speed yourself up and have
less attacks to contend with.

~~~
After the fight, it seems we've returned to Yen Sid's tower. Riku uses the
Sound Idea, but to no avail. It seems we need one more. Suddenly, the one from
Sora's part of the world arrives and releases the hold of the darkness on both
the book and Mickey.
The room is righted again, and Mickey awakens. After some chatting and being
thanked, Riku finds and unlocks the Sleeping Keyhole, gaining the Counterpoint
Keyblade as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                                   The Rest
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back in the real Yen Sid's tower, everyone is looking anxious and worried about
something: whether Lea will do what he is to do. Merlin and the fairies are
helping him in a place that is more flexible with time. Maybe Lea will be able
to wield the Keyblade (I guess); he has the fire, but just how hot and strong
does it burn?
As for Sora and Riku, if Xehanort knows what we are doing, then he needed to
have been there when the Destiny Islands were engulfed in the darkness. It is
unlikely he planned that far ahead ... unless he jumped across time, according
to Goofy, but Xehanort still would need to be in the Destiny Islands, which
would be gone. And besides, he's no good at time travel, according to Yen Sid.
Suddenly, Mickey remembers back to the days of Kingdom Hearts I - back near the
end of Sora's first journey, Xehanort gave up his body and ended up possessing
Riku. This greatly shocks Yen Sid, to think that Xehanort could think so far
ahead... Mickey wants to go help Sora and Riku.
But how? He can't enter a dream. Mickey explains that he needs to go to where
Riku and Sora will reappear after their test is over. Xehanort will likely be
there or coming with him - and we can get him there. Donald and Goofy want to
go along, but cannot.
Yen Sid could not find Sora, but he knows that Riku is in the realm between.
Mickey goes off to find him, vowing to bring them both back safe!
So, by my count, we have unlocked all seven Sleeping Keyholes - Destiny
Islands, Traverse Town, La Cité des Cloches, The Grid, Prankster's Paradise,
Country of the Musketeers, and the Symphony of Sorcery.
So why do we have this to deal with?
Only one world remains, and where is more fitting than the final world we
visited on our second journey in Kingdom Hearts II - The World That Never Was
once was the main stronghold of Organization XIII and the Nobodies? It is also
where many of them met their "deaths", Riku became Riku, Ansem the Wise died,
Kingdom Hearts appeared (again), and we slayed Xemnas.
Regardless, the world was never meant to exist. How did it go to sleep...?
When Sora dives in, you'll need to defeat the Queen Buzzerfly, which you've
done at least twice before. Same as before, defeat the four things circling
around her when their backs are turned, then smack her head, then smack the
weak points on her back.
----
Sora
----
When Sora arrives in front of the skyscraper, he realizes just where he is. He
realizes that the seven Sleeping Keyholes are unlocked, and this world just
can't be sleeping. So, he's awake in the real world!? And here?
Suddenly, he meets with Xigbar, who ends up shooting at him while revealing that
they forced him to come here. Sora dodges the laser, luckily, and meets the
fiend who SHOULD be gone by now. How!?
Xigbar makes everything a little clearer. He's here because the Mark of Mastery
exam was hijacked before it started and everything has been guiding him to this
place. All was not coincidental.
And the man back in Kingdom Hearts I - the "This world has been connected" guy
was Xehanort or some past version of him. He was there way back when; he has
completely planned this out to almost complete fruition! Sora is skeptical, of
course.
Xigbar also makes it apparent that, because Sora is still in those clothes, he
is still asleep, never going to wake up. It looks like this is going to end
violently. But Xigbar teleportss and uses lasers to summon other black-clothed
people. One of whom is the unknown man, who suddenly appears briefly as Riku.
Suddenly, Sora falls into slumber...
Sora awakens in the Destiny Islands, facing the unknown man as the robed
figure from Kingdom Hearts I approaches the latter. It is apparently a mere
vision, though, from the past. The unknown man, apparently some form of
Xehanort, a younger version, speaks on how he is speaking with himself there.
The brown-robed man was Ansem.
Suddenly, we see the area enveloped in darkness moments after Sora received
the Keyblade, rushing into the secret area after the man. Young Xehanort speaks
on how all the journeys were possible, and how they were slightly flawed in his
predictions.
Traverse Town - just as Sora arrives there when he world disappeared, and there
are many others falling with him. Sora hits the ground lightly and sees a lot
of hims disappearing. Young Xehanort speaks further as we see King Mickey,
Goofy, and Donald, all apparently looking for "the key". They leave, with Sora
following, and Pluto going to a warp hole in the Third District (an event seen
in (Re:)Coded).
Then there's a drop. Take Riku there, now.
----
Riku
----
On Riku's dive down, you'll end up needing to collect 1,300 Prize Points in
90 seconds. It's easy enough, so long as don't hit the obstacles.
When Riku arrives in the Organization's castle, he doesn't immediately realize
just where he is, or the trouble he is in. He notes that he shouldn't be here,
but back at Yen Sid's tower...
Once you regain control, you'll learn about the Reality Shift here, Mirage
Split - cut all of the white links with three straight stylus-drawn lines or
less to deal damage. Now, let's go. Use the nearby Save Point and Moogle Shop.
Go north and along the path to the next area. As you turn west, remember to
go west along the ground first to grab a Dream Candy. At the end of the path,
you'll have to use Reality Shift to open the path by shattering the orb.
Continue along. Head to the north side of the next room to find Curaga, then
go along the western path. Once you have to use Flowmotion, when you leap into
the air forcibly, go right onto the ledge nearby and open thest for a Confetti
Candy 3, then north and west to find an Elixir.
Scale the western wall and ride the pipeline to the east. Continue eastward
past the pole to find two chests. Open them for an Elixir and a Keeba Tiger
Recipe. Return to the original Flowmotion path and ride it to a light; go into
it and west to find an orb. Smash it and use Reality Shift.
This will break a hole in the ground that you should go in if you automatically
do not. Down there, open the big chest for a Doubleflight, which is basically a
double-jump. Then attack and use Reality Shift on the big thing in the middle
that is shooting lasers to reveal another path.
Use it, or just scale up the eastern wall with Flowmotion. Either way, go along
the eastern path first. At the end, after a few fights, you can try scaling the
big red wall - it damages you if you touch the red. I tried finding step-like
groups and using Flowmotion off of them. At the top is a chest with Dark
Splicer.
Return to the center room and use the northern branch of the path now. At the
end, open the Dream Candy chest, then continue on into the next area.
There, at the Walk of Delusions, open the nearby chest for a Drop-Me-Not, then
use Auron's (Final Fantasy X character) Portal if you need some Spirits. Go
along and smash up the orb as usual, use Reality Shift, and let us continue. Go
behind the stairs in front of you for a Lofty Fantasy.
Go up the stairs and along the linear path for a bit to another orb, which you
should destroy as usual. Go up the ramp and destroy some enemies and you'll
soon hit a dead-end. Return to the entrance and go east to find another orb.
You know what to do by now. Afterwards, open the chest nearby (Ice Dream Cone 3
within) and use the Save Point, then press onward.
In the next area, Fact within Fiction, go along the very linear path. But go on
the ground so you can understand where I'm going - don't use the Flowmotion
rails until I say so. Continue along and you'll reach some chests, one with a
Balloon, and one with an Elixir.
Further north is a Special Portal - win in under 20 seconds to get... Screw it,
I wouldn't even bother with this thing. Not only is it way too hard to beat in
under 20 seconds, much less FIVE MINUTES, it is only a strain on your resources
at this point.
Further north is a Royal Cake chest, then use the light boost and go west for
a battle and a Block-it Chocolate 3 chest. Go south along the Flowmotion path,
then, after landing, turn around and go east, north, and you'll find a chest
with an Intrepid Fancy.
Go back along the Flowmotion path and begin heading eastward a while, then
north into the next area by using the lift.
At the Verge of Chaos, go along the path to the big outer ledge. After a fight,
go south and open the chest (Paint Gun (Black x10)), then go south some more to
find a Portal - use it and win using at least three successful blocks to obtain
25 DP, a Savage Fantasy, and an Ice Dream Cone 3. Go far north for an Elixir,
then go southeast from there and ride the pipeline. Keep it in mind to check
out the ledges for chests: I got Treasure Goggles, a Wondrous Fantasy, and a
Skelterwild Recipe.
At the top, go along the path to find an Elixir chest and a Shield Cookie 3
chest. Use the nearby Save Point and Moogle Shop, and press onward.
At the end of the path, Riku meets up with an unconscious and darkness-bound
Sora. He tries dragging Sora out of sleep and the bubble to no avail. Suddenly,
the darkness gathers behind Riku and an unknown man in a black coat
materializes. Riku withdraws the Keyblade as the Dream Eater symbol appears on
the thing's back.
===============================
BOSS: Anti Black Coat Nightmare
===============================
Game's words, not mine.
This thing has an exceptional array of attacks. It includes attacks from the
ground and ones that appear in front of you as it attacks. It can attack you
physically, and even has an attack that will reduce you to 1 HP. But, unlike
the infamous Heartless Angel attack of Final Fantasy VI and Kingdom Hearts I
and II, the HP orbs will fall around the arena. Regardless, I highly
recommend coming into this fight prepared with three or more Mega Potions.
Your offense is going to be hard. This enemy LOVES warping around the arena,
faster than even the Dashes can go at times. Whenever you can get a lock, use
a Dash attack to get close and batter it with X Button commands.
This fight is hard as hell, but it is not impossible. Coming with enough Mega
Potions, or perhaps Curaga, will work. I managed to get by with three on my
first try. Barely. Dodge rolling to get around manually is a great aid, because
of how easily you'll dodge some attacks. Even the Dash attacks can help you
avoid certain attacks.
But it will be a hard fight. Come prepared with items/spells. And remember
during that 1 HP-bound attack you CAN switch commands during the attack, just
not use them. Have that item prepared for when you land, because this beast
attacks fast and hard; going for the HP orbs can only grant you death.
~~~

After the fight, the thing merely disappears.

Riku runs up to Sora, who's still out cold, and speaks to him, who shortly
disappears, and his part of the world materializes.

Ansem confirms that Sora is still asleep, and will never awaken, and says that
Sora's heart belongs to the darkness now. Riku is told that he is a dream of a
dream; that he has been within Sora's dreams, and that darkness within darkness
awaits, and he gets sucked into a dark portal.

Ansem speaks about how he was seen dressed in the robe at Destiny Islands, and
Riku knew something was up, and unknowningly went into Sora's dream. And he
merely became a Dream Eater to protect Sora from Nightmares. And failed.

Riku still believes that he can save Sora. Ansem confirms this by saying all he
has to do is release the darkness inside, trapped within his heart. Riku notes
how Ansem/Xehanort used to be a Keyblade Master, one of the most powerful ever,
until darkness stole his heart and his Keyblade. Riku says that this is why is
decided to do the journey - obviously, the darkness (Ansem) is still haunting
him. How can he be fit to wield the Keyblade?

He understands it and says there is no point in holding back the darkness. When
he looks at Ansem, he remembers a promise he made when he was little. He
remembers how he wanted to see other worlds, and his journey begins now, so he
can go to the real world and protect Sora.

Time to fight.

===========
BOSS: Ansem
===========

This fight is actually pretty easy. Mostly, you'll be hit with punches, though
long-range attacks are possible. There isn't honestly a lot to say with this
fight, I'll admit. It's dodge-and-hit (and heal when needed). Most attacks can
be blocked, and Ansem, like in Kingdom Hearts I, will command the thing behind
him to protect him at times, which is your chance to engage a heal or a link.

~~~
After the fight... More?
===========
BOSS: Ansem
===========
This fight is extremely annoying and hard, more than any other one thus far.
Ansem has a lot more attacks this time around, and I got to see a lot of them
thanks to having four Game Overs. >_>
Anyways, when close-up, he'll do a three-hit combo, a disc attack from afar,
throw some lasers at you, or push you back to the far end of the field. The
first is pretty much gonna hit you, the second can be blocked, and so can the
third. The fourth, well, that's going to happen.
As for when you're far off, he can summon two balls to toss powerful lasers at
you, or throw a lot of explosive bubbles at you. The lasers are seemingly
impossible to deal with, but the bubbles should be dodged by going left and
right with dodge rolls - forget going forward. Additionally, he can throw more
minor lasers like he can when you're close up. Even worse: the laser bubbles
still function when you're close up.
Finally, he can sometimes make the area dark and bring darkness attacks from
the ground.
Your strategy is mostly to survive. If your Spirits have a healing spell on,
let them in - I was saved more than once by a Meow Wow's Curaga. Having your
own items (Mega Potions or Hi-Potions, numbering 3/6 or 4/8 respectively) is
practically required. There is no real offensive strategy except hit when you
can and block or dodge ANYTHING that comes after you.
~~~

After this fight, your max HP increases. Ansem seems to be finally defeated
and he disintegrates into nothingness.

Suddenly, Riku arrives at the skyscraper where Sora was before being put to
sleep. He notes how he and Sora were separated since the start because of
Xehanort's planning. Thusly, we're way off from the Mark of Mastery. So, we
need to find Sora, now...

#############################################################################
##                                                                         ##
# The World That Never Was, Part Two **KH3D_411** #
##                                                                         ##
#############################################################################

So, Sora got enveloped within a dream all because this whole event was planned
by the Organization. Riku found Sora, but he disappeared, leaving Riku to slay
the darkness, Ansem, within him.

He has now returned to the skyscraper outside the Organization's castle in
Sora's part of the world. But where is Sora?

Riku
----

Once you regain control, go northwest and use the Moogle Shop and Save Point.
Then try heading north to the next area and you will suddenly have Riku fall
asleep. A drop!? That means...

----
Sora
----

Sora suddenly awakens to find Mickey, Donald, and Goofy running away. We find
Sora to be in his Kingdom Hearts II clothing - does that mean he's out of the
dream? The effect is only temporal, though.

He suddenly comes across Namine, which is a little weird since she is supposed
be inside Kairi. Suddenly, she transforms into Xion - Roxas's friend from
358/2 Days - which is even weirder, since she is supposed to be inside Sora!
She merely flees without a word.

You then learn about this world's Reality Shift, Nightmare's End, which is no
different than the one Riku had.

Once you regain control, go north and use the Save Point and Moogle Shop, then
head northward. Finish the fight, scale the wall with Flowmotion, then go
northeast to another roof with a chest containing a Shield Cookie 3. Go to the
building which has the Portal mark on the map. Scale the ridiculously-tall
thing and open a chest for Salvation.

Then use the Special Portal and win using at least three Flowmotion attacks to
obtain 65 DP, a Wild Fantasy, and a Royal Cake. Afterwards, since you likely
were forced to move far away, let's begin somewhere arbitrary. See those
striped buildings on the map? Just south of there is a chest with a Water
Barrel.

Use a Reality Shift on the building to the north to break it. O_O Go on up,
then west onto the blue buildings to get launched up a little. Continue along
and go west of the green building to the ground. Defeat the nearby enemies and
open the nearby chest for an Elixir.

Continue west to the big open area, and go to its southernmost parts for a
Dream Candy. Go north to the next area.

There, Sora meets up with ... Roxas!? Wasn't he a part of Sora? Roxas speaks
of how many hearts are connected to Sora's. Sora wants Roxas to be his own
person and, suddenly, the bubbles of memories Roxas experienced flood into
Sora and Roxas himself disappears, leaving Sora upset and angry at, I guess,
Organization XIII.

Suddenly, Riku's voice echoes from above, telling him to wake up. But how?

Once you regain control, go forward and open the chest for a Block-it
Chocolate 3. Go along the linear path eastward until white-striped buildings
come up to block you; use Reality Shift to cut them down. Ascend one of the
northern buildings to get Ars Arcanum.

Continue eastward and let Sora do his thing by cutting down more buildings.
Continue along the path some more, remembering to open the chest past the
Flowmotion rail to get a Confetti Candy 3.

Further along, when the path splits between a high road and a low road, go low
to find a Wondrous Fantasy at the end. Scale the nearby wall and use the nearby
Portal from Squall - win using at least three Flowmotion attacks to get 25 DP,
a Grim Fantasy, and a Shield Cookie 3.

Continue along the path some more, hugging the outside of the loop, to reach
another chest, this one holding an Ice Dream Cone 3. Then continue along to
the next area.

There, at the Nightmarish Abyss, continue along to the Save Point and the
Moogle Shop. Use them and go along the building path. As you cross, you seem
to meet up with Riku and Kairi - they suddenly turn into Terra and Aqua, while
you somehow turn into Ventus, the three Keyblade wielders of Birth by Sleep.

They walk off, everyone transforming into their normal form. Sora tries to
follow, but to no avail. Riku's voice again echoes from above, telling Sora
to stop and wake up! The fake Riku and Kairi disappear and Sora arrives at
the Memory Skyscraper. A bright light shines...

... and we see Sora and Riku as kids meet up with Aqua, I presume. They chat
for a bit and her image is replaced by Ansem! A bright comet shines down back
in The World That Never Was, landing right in front of Xigbar. Sora has
apparently woken up.

During their chat, Sora gets the idea that those Nobodies have hearts: Axel,
Roxas, Namine, and Xion, included. According to Xemnas, he's sort of right. He
also reveals that the experiments that he was doing on the heart, as a human,
was to find a way to control the mind and make it a slave.

But one can get rid of their own heart, and the body will look desperately for
a substitute. Xemnas knew that, after dividing into Heartless and Nobodies, it
was be temporal; they would become human again. Sora asks why Xemnas had to lie
and tell the Organization they had no hearts - he's obviously speaking
specifically about Axel, Roxas, and Xion.

Xigbar suddenly speaks, revealing the whole plan about the second artificial
Kingdom Hearts - filling a bunch of empty Nobodies with Xehanort. Good thing
we screwed that up! That included Xigbar, so why did he want to? Then it is
revealed that Xigbar is already half Xehanort, which is odd...

Xemnas then speaks that most of the members of the Organization were
inadequate for this - they may have been unwilling, untrusting, or just weak.
They never could get a heart. Of course, Xemnas expected this.

Sora is offered a choice - join with the Organization, or fight. He knows that
he is strong because of the people he met, and that is why he received the
Keyblade. He cares not that the Keyblade didn't really choose him as he had
thought for years; at least he got to help the right side.

And so, Xigbar leaves Sora to Xemnas. Or is it the other way around?

============
BOSS: Xemnas
============

This fight is hard. Xemnas has a fair variety of attacks. He can throw freakin'
buildings at you. Buildings. Which are hard to dodge. Ouch.

He can also strike at you with his laser swords, often after teleporting behind
you, and throw lasers. At some points, he may knock a building into the one
you're on and force you to dodge the buildings that come at you in mid-air with
Reality Shifts, so be ready for that. If you succeed, you'll greatly damage and
stun him.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS MOMENT AND SPLATTER HIS NOBODY BLOOD ALL OVER THAT
BUILDING. The whole fight will likely rest on that one moment. If you fail, you
lengthen the fight by at least 40% and, if you had as much trouble as I did,
you won't make it. And that was with the building attack.

~~~
Your HP increases for winning.
After the fight, you'll get a Glossary entry on Recusant's Sigil - it was part
of a phrase Xemnas shouted before the fight...
We also see Xemnas disappear and the darkness has surrounded Sora. The young
Xehanort comes by, claiming that Sora has lost. He has come to the deepest
part of his sleep, with no hope of awakening, and is extremely tired. He
points out the "chi" emblem on Sora's chest. (Or it is an X.)
It tells Sora's enemies where Sora is. That was how he was followed. It seems,
though, that Xehanort needs Sora ... or, really, will be left of him - Roxas.
That day, all of the Xehanorts were meant to come there and welcome Sora as
the Organization's thirteenth member once again.
The darkness around Sora strengthens, and Xehanort says that he has no more
knowledge of the future; what he has told Sora is what he knows. The young
Xehanort decides to return to his time. And Sora will be enveloped into
eternal slumber and his body, Roxas, a vessel for Xehanort.
We see Sora in the lowest, thirteenth chair of the Organization's throne room,
then Sora falling. A light comes to Sora and glows brightly, enveloping Sora in
armor resistant to the darkness. It protects him. Further above, a light still
shines. There is still hope.
You'll receive a Glossary entry on the hearts that are tied to Sora.
----
Riku
----
Meanwhile, we return to controlling Riku. Go northwest and use the Save Point
and Moogle Shop, and continue onward.
In the next area, you'll look upon the Organization's castle at the dead end.
Riku believes he is in the real world again, but has his Dream Eater powers,
so Sora is still asleep. Suddenly, Riku hears a Spirit in the distance, one of
Sora's. But how does he get to it.
Suddenly, Riku's own Spirit comes out and he gets the idea. Use Reality Shift
on the Spirit and use Flowmotion to go to the castle. He arrives in the throne
room of the Organization and finds Sora, but is attacked by the young Xehanort.
Riku is shocked to find that Sora is meant to be a vessel for Xehanort (but is
obviously also shocked he, too, was supposed to be one, until he resisted the
darkness).
Roxas would have been a good choice, but he became aware of himself and ended
up returning to Sora. Xehanort reveals the true plan of Organization XIII - to
divide Xehanort's heart amongst thirteen vessels, much like the thirteen dark
pieces of the x-blade. Sora and Riku made it apparent that certain members
wouldn't work.
Suddenly, as Xehanort says it, the true Organization XIII arrives on their
thrones. Xehanort reveals that he is from the past, and that his future self
told him to bring the splintered versions of himself here today. He then says
that his most future self will arrive soon. Time for them will then return to
normalcy, and young Xehanort will return to his own time to live out what he
has in store.
Suddenly, King Mickey arrives, casting Stopza, the most powerful of all the
Stop chain of spells, stopping all time, except for Riku and he in the area.
Mickey tells Riku to grab Sora so we can go, then someone appears and brutally
strikes Mickey from behind.
This someone ... is none other than Xehanort, animated by the darkness and the
power of the Keyblade, who envelopes the area in darkness, leaving he and Riku
alone to fight.
====================
BOSS: Young Xehanort
====================
God, I am starting to despise these hard fights.
Young Xehanort seems to better at messing with time than Yen Sid thought, for
the speed with which he moves around the battlefield is such that he leaves
illusions behind him. He has to be moving faster than light for that to happen,
I believe. Or at a negative speed. Whatever.
Point is, he has a fair variety of attacks, and you NEED to stay locked-on or
you will be in immense trouble in figuring who is who. He has the expected
array of blockable physical attacks, and can do an extend-a-Keyblade type of
deal where he uses it like a whip. He can throw lasers, and I would assume he
can use magic.
Using Dashes here will be helpful in keeping up with him. He doesn't teleport
a whole bunch, relatively - you can dash to him, get a few more commands in,
and have to find him again. What damage you receive can be easily dealt with
HP-absorbing attacks like Drain Dive, though having some Hi-Potions or
Mega-Potions on-hand may be a little helpful.
Once you empty that guy's HP, run to the center of the arena and use Reality
Shift successfully. And hurry, or you'll repeat about three bars' worth of HP
in fighting.  *groan*
After that, you'll literally be fighting time. You have go to fight that clock
and Xehanort does not plan on holding back any longer. He will be absolutely
brutal beyond any extent seen so far. The only way I was able to survive was
with luck and a link.
You will easily have a few Game Overs, so don't get freaked if you do lose. I'd
probably find it hard not to lose three or four times.
~~~

After the fight, Mickey checks up on Riku. Suddenly, dark ripples appear
everywhere. That means, Xehanort is definitely here!! He reveals what you
already know - that he was meant to come here today, a complete being welcomed
by his twelve other selves.

Xehanort tells Mickey why he is doing this. In ancient times, the times of the
original Keyblade War, light was thought to be a gift from Kingdom Hearts.
However, Kingdom Hearts was guarded by its counterpart, the x-blade. All wanted
the light; so began the Keyblade War.

The clash forced the x-blade to split into twenty pieces - seven of light, and
thirteen of darkness. Then the real Kingdom Hearts was engulfed by the darkness
and never seen again.

Xehanort once tried creating his own light and darkness to try to re-forge the
x-blade, but failed. He admits he was rash and did not know how to re-forge it
in reality. Mickey then exclaims that his "little accident" greatly changed the
destinies of, I suppose, Aqua (who died for her master), Terra (who retreated
into the heart of the boy, Sora, that helped him long ago), and Ventus (who is
Xehanort's vessel).

Their sacrifices seem to have been not enough. Back in Kingdom Hearts I, it
seems that Maleficent finding the seven princesses of heart - seven pure
lights - was still Xehanort's doing, while he looked for thirteen vessels for
pure darkness - Organization XIII.

Sora stopped him both times. Xehanort admits Sora is unlike no other Keyblade
wielder he's seen, but no matter - Xehanort will not stop with his ambition.
The seven guardians of light, and the thirteen seekers of darkness.

The guardians of light? There is Riku, Sora, and Mickey; Aqua, Terra, and
Ventus, all of whom are missing; and the seventh is...? But Xehanort claims
Mickey to be three short - Sora is his, and I didn't hear the rest. All of
the pieces will come together anyways, and they will battle, and the x-blade
will be forged in the high-dimensional collision, all for Xehanort.

But it seems all of the thirteen dark pieces are here, so why not bring them
together? Xehanort withdraws his Keyblade and Sora's chair rises for the
injection of Xehanort's heart. Xemnas stops Mickey, and Ansem stops Riku. It
seems no one can save Sora!

And then, of course, Lea would be the one to do it. He blocks the shot and
saves Sora. Saix/Isa attacks Lea, and fails. Mickey and Riku force their
captors to teleport. It is time to flee!

Then Ansem summons his goonie, who snatches up Mickey and Riku. Goofy and
Donald then fall in, killing that goon! (We can charge them with manslaughter
later.) Mickey thanks the duo as the black hoods disintegrate. Neither the
unions of darkness or light occurred, and we must all return from whence we
came.

But this won't be the last chance, Xehanort says. The union of twenty will
come soon. We'll finish this at the "fated place", he says, and Xehanort, too,
leaves.

===============================================================================
                             The Mysterious Tower
===============================================================================

Back in Yen Sid's tower, Sora has yet to awaken. Yen Sid tells them that Sora's
heart is asleep. He reminds them of the task in the Mark of Mastery exam:
unlock seven Sleeping Keyholes. In doing so, the worlds would awaken, and we'd
gain the power to awaken a sleeping heart.

Riku unlocked the Sleeping Keyholes in Sora's dreams. Therefore, he has the
power to awaken Sora's heart. He has to go into Sora's sleep, but Sora's heart
is down in the darkest place possible. If Riku isn't careful, he could meet
Sora's fate. Mickey offers to go instead, but fails. It is Riku's task alone.
Riku thanks him, anyways.

After some more chatting, Riku departs into Sora's sleep.

===============================================================================
                                      ???
===============================================================================

On the dive down, tag 30 Soras. To do that, you simply must run into them.
There are two good varieties - one in his Kingdom Hearts I/(Re:)Chain of
Memories clothes, and one in his Kingdom Hearts II/3D (not dreaming) clothing.
There is no time limit, so take as long as you need. Don't not worry too much
about the dark ones that attack. You'd have to be pretty bad at this game to
lose to them!

When he lands, Riku is on a watery pool of darkness. Suddenly, a being rises
behind him and attacks!

==============================
BOSS: Armored Ventus Nightmare
==============================

This boss isn't exceptionally hard, though it is hard to deny that, if Enix
had bumped up its offensive stats, we'd be in trouble. It has a wide array of
physical attacks, most of which should be blockable. It also has this attack
where it turns the area white, and then attacks you with goo.

I pretty much just kept up an all-out offensive and did pretty well, only
using one Hi-Potion. When the thing got down to a little less than one bar of
HP, something odd happened, like a special link or something. I dunno WHAT it
was, but I kept mashing the A Button ("Nightmare Clash") and won by a landslide
(assuming there are landslides here).

And that was one cool final blow.

~~~
After the clash, the armor shatters on the thing, revealing it to be Sora! Riku
tries to pull him out of the whirlpool of darkness, and fails. The Kingdom Key
beside him returns to light and Riku picks it up, and then seals a Keyhole. Hm.
Riku finds himself at the Destiny Islands, looking at that beautiful sunset.
He turns around and meets Roxas, who asks what Riku is afraid of. Choose
something (I chose "Losing something that's important").
Roxas then disappears and Riku finds Ventus on the beach, who asks what is the
one thing you care about more than anything else. Choose (I picked "The
strength to protect others").
Then Ventus disappears and Riku walks onto the island, finding Sora there. He
speaks with him and the Sora has transformed into Xion who asks what you wish.
Choose something (I chose "To heal the pain from the past", a Riku-ish answer).
Xion then disappears and Riku is on the beach again, and he sees a bottle in
the water. He picks it up and opens it, finding a note inside. Before he can
read it, DiZ - Ansem the Wise - comes to speak. He says that he digitized his
research within Sora, to leave something behind of himself. (Remember, he died
in Kingdom Hearts II.)
So, this is data, a clue, in the bottle. Ansem speaks of how malleable the
heart truly is, moreso than the softest, hottest gold, and how Nobodies are
little different. Sora was the only one able to become human without losing his
Nobody. He may have the power to bring back those connected to him, those lost
forever, and even Aqua, Terra, and Ventus. Sora is willing to see the good
before the bad, is uncorrupted, and can repair broken connections. He truly is
remarkable.
After some chatting, Riku tells Ansem he needs to awaken Sora. It seems Sora is
not here; when you defeat the Armored Ventus Nightmare, Sora was freed from his
imprisonment. After the three questions, Sora was awakened, and Riku can seal
one final Keyhole and return home.
===============================================================================
                             The Mysterious Tower
===============================================================================
Back at the tower, Riku awakens to find Sora already up, with the munchies and
a party! Sora hugs the crap out of Riku and thanks everyone.
And then, Sora asks if he and Riku passed the examination. They perfromed
admirably, and it is time for a ceremony. Yen Sid expresses his happiness at
their safe return, gratefulness for Lea's action, and his sorrow at not being
able to predict this.
Yen Sid believes we need a new Keyblade Master, one with a new kind of power.
(Notice the word "a".) He tells Riku and Sora that they both deserve the honor
of being named Keyblade Masters. However, Riku braved the realm of sleep once
again to unlock the final Keyhole and save Sora; thusly, only he received the
honor of being a Master.
Oddly, Sora is immensely happy, as if he didn't fail. Everyone congratulates
him. Lea then mentions how he came here to learn how to use the Keyblade, to
Sora's and Riku's immense surprise. But he couldn't get it to appear.
Oh, wait, he just did it. Heh.
Outside, Sora decides to leave and take care of some stuff real quick. He parts
ways with his friends and seals a Keyhole in the sky, randomly enough.
Whether you are able to find Julius after or before beating the game is
unknown to me; I was only able to find him after the fact. However, this much
remains sure. He is in Traverse Town's Fountain Plaza. I found him using Sora;
to reach him, land in the Post Office and proceed north to the next area.
============
BOSS: Julius
============
This boss is absolutely brutal. He is, without any shadow of a doubt, the
hardest boss in this game, exceeding even the difficulty of Sephiroth in the
previous Kingdom Hearts games.
He will attack almost constantly, using punches and body slams for the most
part, and they are absolutely destructive. You will easily lose in six or
seven hits here if you didn't do any real grinding during the course of the
game.
I can't really come up with a decent strategy, mostly because I'm having a hard
time winning. I have had success by trying to stay away and attack only when an
opening is available, but that is rare, and you can't run around forever.
I will note that these listings will not remain constant throughout the course
of the game. The drop bonuses will change as you defeat bosses, and the Moogle
Shops end up changing as you progress, as well. These were taken from end-game
data, so if you lack something, then you need to go further in the game, or,
with Moogle Shops, go for one of the special deals.
Furthermore, if you want the prices of a recipe here, no luck - they are
one-time buys. If you do have their costs, please let me have them!
