that BENEFITS your pokemon. well, there are some types of items and information
that i wanna share with you all on how to use items to your advantage.

first- HEALTH ITEMS: used to restore and or raise stats of your pokemon.
antidote: heals poison
awakening: awakens from sleep
burn heal: heals burn
calcium: raises the base Sp. Attack
carbos: rasies the base Speed
elixir: resores PP for all moves by 10
energy root: restores HP by 200
energy powder: restores HP by 50
ether: resores PP of one move by 10
fresh water: restores HP by 50
full heal: heals all status problems
full restore: heals all status problems and restores "all" HP
heal powder: heals all status problems
hp up: raises base HP
hyper potion: restores HP by 200
ice heal: defrosts
iron: raises base Defense
lava cookie: heals all status problems
lemonade: restores HP by 80
max elixir: restores PP or all moves fully
max ether: restores PP of one move fully
max potion: restores HP fully
max revive: revives; restores HP by half
moomoo milk: restores HP by 100
old gateau: heals all status problems
paralyze heal: eliminates paralysis
pp max: raises base PP up to max amount
pp up: raises base PP
protein: raises base Attack
rare candy: raises level by 1
revival herb: revives; restores "all" HP
revive: revives; restores HP by half
sacred ash: revives "all"; restore "all" HP
soda pop: restores HP by 60
super potion: restores HP by 50
zinc: raises base Sp. Defense

second- POKE BALLS: device used to capture a wild pokemon.
dive ball: works well on sea pokemon
dusk ball: easier to catch pokemon at night or in a cave
great ball: higher catch rate than regular poke ball
heal ball: restores captured pokemon's HP fully and eliminates status problems
luxury ball: makes a captured pokemon friendlier
master ball: catch any pokemon without fail [SAVE THIS BALL FOR RARE POKEMON]
nest ball: works well on weaker pokemon (under 25)
net ball: works well on water and bug pokemon
poke ball: basic ball
premier ball: specially designed to commemorate an event
quick ball: higher catch rate if used at beginning of wild encounter
repeat ball: works well on pokemon that have already been captured
safari ball: special ball used in the Great Marsh
timer ball: catch rate increases as the battle goes on
ultra ball: higher catch rate than great ball and poke ball
