*** HINTS & TIPS *** [HNTS]

- Always use cover, if you stay exposed for too long you will not live to
regret it. On Hard and Guerilla difficulties, this is a must.

- Be a freeloader when possible! The AI squadmates may not be the greatest,
but they do have guns and are borderline invincible - let them take the risk
when trying to clear a difficult area.

- Cant pass a difficult area? Dont forget grenades/ C4. Toss one then rush
in afterwards to make things much easier.

- In close quarters you should always melee, it is instant and usually fatal.
Attempting to fire your gun at close range is silly and will likely see you
heading back to the previous checkpoint to try again.

- Always move between cover and never run into an open area/room until you are
positive that the area is clear of enemy soldiers.

- Keep your eyes out for the grenade indicator, having one of these bad boys
go off too close to you is a death sentance. Move to a safe distance until
  it detonates.

Chapter 1: Why We Fight [ACT-01]

===============================================================================

10 Collectibles
2 Achievements/trophies:

Pistol Whipped - Kill 25 enemies with a pistol in Chapter 1: Why We Fight
Give Him the Stick - Kill 25 enemies with melee attacks in Chapter 1: Why We
                     Fight

Walkthrough:
When you gain control, have a look around the room and get used to the
controls, you wont be able to do a whole lot. When the door gets kicked
in and you get confronted by a Korean soldier who will subsequently smash you
in the face and put you aboard a bus.

Once you regain control of our friend, pick up the gun from the ground and
follow Connor off the bus. To our right is a building with a White
Castle sign on it, instead of following our new friends inside, run around to
the left of the building to find a newspaper (1/61).

Return to the entrance and continue inside. A helicopter in the parking lot
behind you will start firing so run through the door to the right of the
counter. As our allies open the door here, follow them into an alley. Take
cover here as further down a pair of Korean soldiers will jump over the fence
from the right. Kill them both and Connor will tell you to pick up the assault
rifle. Do so and quickly continue into the door to the left before the
helicopter appears to finish you off.

o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o
NOTE: During this mission you can earn a trophy/achievement - Pistol
Whipped for killing 25 enemies with the pistol.
o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o
NOTE: During this mission you can also earn the trophy/achievement - Give Him
the Stick for killing 25 enemies with melee attacks.
o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o

Continue around the corner and a pair of guards will enter the room through the
door on the far side and a third will drop from the ceiling to the right. Kill
them all and continue out the door and take cover behind the pick up truck,
another three baddies will appear down the alley in front of you. Kill them all
and follow your buddies.

Jump over the low wall at the far end of the alley and continue into the
building to the right. Kill the baddies in the immediate area and a helicopter
will drop 4-5 more in the parking lot outside. If you sprint to the back, right
hand corner of the room in front of you, you can find some frag grenades which
will prove quite helpful in the coming fight. Grab them and start shooting the
Korean soldiers, they will soon be joined by another 3-4 who jump out of a
transport truck. Hang out in the room here, staying in cover and eliminate them
as they come. Killing 4-5 of these guys will trigger a second transport truck
to arrive from the left. Continue to fight off the attackers and after a short
while, the gas pumps behind them will explode.

Follow your allies through the hole in the fence and look to the left, you will
see a caravan. Look on the ground behind this for a newspaper (2/61). Continue
after Connor and Rianna up the nearby hill, climb the debris here and drop into
a back yard. Connor will crawl under a broken wall. Before you join him, look
to the right in front of a broken window for a newspaper (3/61). Crawl under
the same wall your allies did and join them in cover.

You will see a large Korean patrol on the street directly in front of you. Hold
position and do as Connor says. Follow him as he sprints across the street
towards the blue house. Climb over the leaning fence on the right and
immediately turn left to find a newspaper (4/61) sitting on one of the window
sills of the blue house. Follow Connor and Riana down the small passageway and
past a Do Not Enter sign. Enter the house beyond this and look in
the fireplace in front of you for a newspaper (5/61). Continue through the
house and before exiting, look at the stairs here to find another newspaper
(6/61).Follow Connor outside.

Climb the ladder into the tree house as instructed and open fire on the crowd
of Korean soldiers below you. After a few go down, you will be hit by an RPG.
Once you regain control, take cover behind the low wall here and help your
friends clear the area. Enemies will hang out in the centre of the area and
will occasionally jump down from the wing on the left hand side, so be sure to
check back there often to make sure they arent trying to flank or snipe
you.

There is plenty of cover about, so when it is safe to do so just move from
piece to piece towards the objective marker, eliminating baddies as you go.
At the far side of the area, turn left at the engine and continue up the hill
here. Follow Connor round the corner to the left and take cover. A few baddies
will appear further down the street to the right and more will spawn in the
wreckage of the plane in front of you. So kill them as quickly as you can, then
move up slowly. As you move past the airplane skeleton, you will be alerted to
a machine gun in a second floor window to the right. Kill the machine gunner,
his pals running around in the other windows here and then kill the 4-5 enemies
in the back yard. Watch out as a few additional soldiers will climb over the
fence to the left of the house here.

Instead of entering the back yard, continue straight and kill the baddie here
to find a crate with some more ammo and weapons. Follow Connor and when the APC
arrives, quickly sprint across the yard to the ladder, climb to the roof of the
house and kill the enemy that jumps out of the window here. Enter the window
and pick up the C4 from the shelf. Look out of the nearby window to see the APC
below. Toss some C4 down onto the APC and detonate it. Once the APC has been
dealt with, jump out the window and go through the hole in the fence.

As you enter the next area, look for a yellow house on the left, it should have
a for sale sign in front of it. Look to the right side of this house in the
garden for a newspaper (7/61). From this collectible, look across the street
and you should see another yellow house, cruise over to this and look on its
front porch for another newspaper (8/61).

Return to your buddies and follow Connor into the white house. As you enter you
will see yet another newspaper (9/61) on the ground in front of you. Continue
into the next room and look on the left hand side of this area for newspaper
(10/61). Continue through the now open door and follow our buddies through the
alleyway, through the blue house and over the fence to the right.

After a short scene, KPA soldiers will show up in APCs so run into the open
house to your left. As you enter, the soldiers outside will start firing in on
you, so take cover and eliminate them from safety. Baddies are going to be
coming in from the window on the right and through the doorway in front.
Occasionally they will also gather outside the door you entered from as well so
try not to stand up in front of it and be sure to keep an eye on the two
entrances at the front of the house. Once you have killed enough baddies, they
will pop some tear gas in to get you out. Follow your allies and exit the house
through the left hand door.

Continue through the passageway behind the houses here and into the building at
the end. After another short story scene, pick up the Goliath targeter from the
bag, then bring it up, look out the window and target the hum vee here and then
any soldiers in the area. Exit the house and use the targeter to destroy the
other two hum vees in the area as well as any remaining soldiers to complete
the mission.

Chapter 2: Freedom [ACT-02]

===============================================================================

16 collectibles

2 Achievements/Trophies:
Welcome to Freedom - Talk at least once to each inhabitant of Oasis in
                     Chapter 2: Freedom
Good Use of Cover - Destroy the first sentry without taking any damage in
                     Chapter 2: Freedom

Walkthrough:
After a quick chat, follow Boone outside.

o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o
NOTE: During this mission, you will earn an trophy/achievement for talking to
eight people in the safe area here, so Ill list them in the guide below.
Simply talk to all of them for the trophy/achievement - Welcome to Freedom
o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o

After climbing down the stairs look around the corner to the right and talk to
Andrew (1/8). Continue to follow Boone and enter the house here, you will be
able to talk to Sally (2/8) who is cooking directly in front of you. After the
short conversation between Connor and Boone talk to Janice (3/8) who is lying
on the nearby couch with her baby.

Enter the door to the left of Janice and look on the floor here for a newspaper
(11/61). Follow Boone out the door. Directly in front of you, fixing a radio is
Zach (4/8). A little further along the path to the right, dishing out soup is
Carlos (5/8). When you reach the playground, look to the right. Talk to Adedayo
(6/8) on the stair master and then talk to Ana in the garden (7/8). Boone will
wait for you in front of a blue house; look on the ground to the right of where
he is waiting of a newspaper (12/61). Before regrouping with Boone, look to the
left hand side of the playground and talk to Sid who is milking the goat (8/8)
for your achievement/trophy. Return to Boone and enter the house.

Pick up the weapons and ammo off the crate here and when possible, climb down
the ladder into the tunnel. Follow Boone through the tunnel and climb the
ladder at the far end. As soon as you exit the tunnel, follow the left wall of
the house around until you reach a garden, on the ground behind a tree you will
find a newspaper (13/61). Go through the open gate here and look in the open
shed to the right for another newspaper (14/61). Follow your allies into the
house.

o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o
NOTE: During this next section of the mission, you will earn a
trophy/achievement - Good use of Cover for eliminating the sentry guy
without taking damage.
o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o

There is a sentry gun ahead; it looks like a small crane of sorts with an
oscillating blue laser that scans the street. Wait for the laser to face away
from you before making a move or it will tear you to shreds in seconds. Make
your way up the street and toss a grenade at its propane tank to take it out.
If you are careful, you will get the achievement/trophy in the process (and you
can restart the checkpoint if you do screw up) its really not
that tough!

Once the sentry tower has been destroyed, return to where you entered the
street and look across the way and slightly right from the entrance to find a
newspaper (15/61). Return to the destroyed sentry gun and follow your crew into
a nearby house.

A large group of KPA will be inconveniently placed just outside, and your
allies will wait for you to take the first shot. Look out the window and pop
the guy on the roof, before quickly re-entering cover. Your friends will kick
out the door and cruise outside. Stay in cover and help them clear the
immediate area. When the all clear is given, head up and into the next house
through the garage, watch out though as a few KPA might be lurking about and
one or two will also exit the house via the garage as you approach. Kill the
enemy inside, and then follow your pals as they exit the front door.

When you see the bus, turn to the right and look around the side of the house
here for a newspaper (16/61). From here, look for the flags in the centre of
the area, make your way here and look at the base of the flag pole for another
newspaper (17/61). Turn to the left from the flagpole to find a second school
bus, enter this and look on the floor for yet another newspaper (18/61). Head
over to where your allies are patiently waiting and cruise inside.

Continue into the indoor basketball court and look at the far wall for a
picture of a beaver, have a look beneath it, next to some crates you will find
a newspaper (19/61). After the short story scene, follow Connor. Head through
the hallway and re-arm yourself with some new weaponry in the room at the end
before continuing out the next door. Exit into a playground area.

As soon as you enter the area, turn left and go around the side of the
building, cruise to the far wall here to find a newspaper (20/61). Return to
the entrance and look to the right, head over to the spiral slide here and look
on the raised section of the play area for another newspaper (21/61). As you
approach where your allies are waiting for you, look for a blue kids pool to
the left - inside you will find another newspaper (22/61). Regroup with
your crew and head inside.

Make your way through the ruined house up to the window and take cover here.
You should see a group of four soldiers on the street to the right, toss a
grenade out there to take them down, then pop the dude on the balcony of the
house across the street and slightly to the left. Now go and join Connor as he
exits the ruined house through the hole in the wall to the right. The baddies
will now activate a sentry gun further down the street to the left. You will
need to take cover on the left hand side of the street and eliminate any
soldiers whilst the sentry gun is not looking your way.

Once you have eliminated the soldiers, repeat the process you used to eliminate
the original tower, your best bet is to head up the right hand side of the
street where you will find a nice tunnel-type area leading out to a caravan in
front of the turret. From here look around the corner to the house on the left
and pop the sniper on the second floor. Using the caravan as cover, kill any
other soldiers in the area then head over to the left, avoiding the sentry
laser as you go and when it is safe to do so, run into the house here. Turn to
the left and exit into the back yard.

Turn right and take cover behind the fence here. In the next yard there are 5-6
KPA soldiers, eliminate them before moving up. Go through the shed on the left
side of this area and then use it as cover to eliminate the baddies in the
house in front of you with Korean stars all over it. Watch out for the second
floor windows and the ground floor door. Once the enemies are gone, head inside
and climb the stairs, look out the window overlooking the sentry gun and toss a
grenade at its fuel tank to destroy it.

Return downstairs and follow your allies as they exit the house. Jump over the
railing to the left and sprint to the opposite side of the street. Jump down
the hole in the ground once Connor opens it and follow him through the tunnel
and up the ladder at the end to find yourself in a labour camp.
As you enter the main area, look to the right of a red car, you should see a
newspaper (23/61) on the ground next to a sleeping man. From this point, look
in the direction of the house behind you, climb the stairs there and look under
the clotheslines to the right of the house for a newspaper (24/61). Follow your
objective marker to regroup with Connor.

Follow your allies through the passageway until you reach a guy blocking a
doorway. Let Connor talk to him, and after a short conversation we can proceed
onwards. Follow our new friend Arnie. As you approach the first door (there is
a gold star above and to the right of it), stop and follow the fence back to
the left to find a newspaper (25/61). Head through the next two sets of turn
styles for a short story scene.

During the slow motion segment, nail the two soldiers to your left with the
pistol then run up the stairs to the left. At the top, grab one of the weapons
leaning against the wall and go prone. Eliminate the hostiles up on the same
walkway as you before turning your attention to the baddies on the opposite
side of the catwalk and the machine gunners on the ground floor in the windows
keep your eye on the building on the far side of the area as groups of
enemies will every now and then emerge from here to have a go at you. Once you
have cleared the area. Enter the building connected to the catwalk.

Climb down the stairs, kill any remaining baddies and pick up the beacons from
the table. Follow your friends out the back door. After Connor kicks down the
fence, cruise around the corner and you will see a newspaper (26/61) in the
middle of the path. Pick it up and continue on after your friends.

After the short scene, take cover behind the wall to the right. Make your way
around the field here taking cover where safe to do so, staying out of the
sentry lasers and eliminating any baddies that get in your way. Its
fairly standard Call of Duty territory! Work your way from cover to cover
around the outside of the field and then use the buses that Connor points out
to you when you can until you are able to lob a grenade at the sentry turret
to blow it up. Then simply run a little further, popping another two KPA as
you go and hit the second sentry.

Regroup with your crew and interact with the hole to end the mission.

Chapter 3: Fire Sale [ACT-03]

===============================================================================

8 Collectibles
2 Achievements/trophies:

Let em Burn - Dont kill any of the enemies that are on fire in
               Chapter 3: Fire Sale
Mercy - Kill 5 enemies while they are on fire in Chapter 3: Fire
               Sale

Walkthrough:
When we regain control of Jacobs, follow Rianna over the wall to the right.
Immediately turn to the left and look behind the fence here for a newspaper
(27/61). Follow Rianna and your new found friends to the entrance of a
building. Before you enter, look to the right to find another newspaper (28/61)
sitting on a pile of rubble.

Enter the building and follow Rianna down the hallway, at the top of the
stairs, exit the building and jump down to the balcony below. Immediately look
to the right for a newspaper (29/61). Regroup with Rianna and watch the scene
unfold below.

o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o
NOTE: you can get 2 achievements/trophies at this point. Whilst the baddies are
on fire, if you kill five of them you will earn the achievement/trophy -
Mercy. If you dont shoot any you will unlock the achievement/trophy -
Let em Burn. You can earn one, re-set the check point and earn the other
if you like.
o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o

Once the flaming guys are all dead, focus your fire on the towers with the
searchlights, each of these has a RPG launcher in it. Once they are clear, help
your buddies clear the remaining KPA soldiers in the car park below. After you
have killed a sufficient number, you will watch a short scene.

When you regain control, follow Rianna through the fire and when prompted to do
so, climb into the guard tower to regroup with Connor.

After the scene, take cover to the left immediately and eliminate the
highlighted EMP soldier on the roof of the building in front of you. Kill him.

The good news now is the goliath is back! Run up onto the truck infront of
you and use the cover here for the next little bit. Activate the control and
use it to eliminate the soldiers guarding the building in front. You will
also want to use the targeter to check the left and the right frequently to
protect yourself from adventurous KPA soldiers. After killing a few, a new
objective will pop up asking you to eliminate the EMP soldier. He will appear
on the roof where the original EMP soldier was or on the left side of the same
roof and can disable the goliath so snipe him quickly.

Once the goliath is back online, eliminate any remaining resistance, this will
trigger a second EMP soldier to appear on the left hand side of the roof. Kill
him and continue to use the goliath to deal with the infantry. Soon after the
second EMP soldier a hum vee will appear near the building ahead so use
the goliath to take that down as well. Once the hum vee has been put down, the
Korean soldiers will retreat. Regroup in front of the store.

We now have to take out the remaining forces, but we will also have to contend
with the Korean attack chopper that tried to kick our asses earlier. As it
comes in from the right, use the goliath targeter to lock it on and shoot it
down. Try to avoid the rockets too as they wont do your health any
good!

Continue forward to the building with the Hooters sign, using the goliath
liberally to help your progress. As you reach the car park outside of Hooters,
you will need to defend it for a short time. Enemies will spawn from the right
side of the Hooters and will come out of the restaurant at regular intervals.
Two EMP soldiers will appear in the guard tower on the right of the area and a
pair of hum vees will also come in from the right. Once the second hum vee is
down, clear up any remaining baddies and enter Hooters. Inside Hooters, look
behind the counter for a newspaper (30/61).

o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o
NOTE: If you have picked up all of the newspapers so far you will unlock the
achievement/trophy - Archivist.
o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o

Regroup with your allies and crawl through the small entrance. Our friends will
wait for you outside of the door leading to the next area. Instead of going
through it, continue past it to find a vending machine, look behind this to
find a newspaper (31/61). Enter the building.

We are now in a department store without a roof. A chopper will come along and
drop some reinforcements in here with us, so lets get down to business.
Kill the enemies in the immediate vicinity before slowly working your way
across to the right hand side of the store. There is no real tactic here as
whichever way you go, you will still have to deal with a huge area with a
tonne of baddies.

The way I did it was to hug the right hand wall as I made my way forward
through the mobiles section. A helicopter will drop more dudes on you
this way, but a grenade will get rid of them pretty quickly.

Once I hit the burning rubble I move left into the room and made my way around
the obstruction and made my way back to the right hand wall. Soon after the
second checkpoint you will enter the Games section of the store. Eliminate
the bad guys in there and make your way towards the ramp up against the back
wall. If you have stayed on the right side of the room as I had suggested, walk
past the ramp and turn left into the second part of the Games section and
look behind the counter here for a newspaper (32/61). Grab it, return to the
ramp and climb up to the next level.

Eliminate the bad guys here and follow Connor through the door on the left. As
soon as the door is open, run over and drop down to the right. Move forward
staying in cover and killing the two enemies in front of you. Continue to head
down the passage here, killing the enemies as you go. When you reach the
building, quickly kill the guy here and sprint out the door to the left.
The truck you need to tag will be pulling away. Sprint up behind it and mash
the action button to attach the beacon to the back of the truck.

Now make your way over to the bright light between you and the store. Just
beneath it and to the left is a guard house. Look inside for a newspaper
(33/61). Kill the dudes to the left using grenades, explosive barrels and
anything else you want to use, and then regroup with your buddies near a back
door into the store.

As you enter, enemies will appear through the window to your left and a pair
of soldiers will also appear in second floor windows at the back of the room.
Eliminate the guys up high first, and then focus on eliminating the KPA coming
through the left window. Follow your buddies through to the left and use the
crates as cover to work your way up through the burning store. After the first
fight, theres no point worrying about the baddies as the environment
should do all the hard work for you. So just follow your crew through the
burning building and when you reach the emergency stairs to the roof, look
underneath them for a newspaper (34/61).

Climb the stairs to the top exit onto the rooftop and follow your team mates
over the side. You will now have control of the goliath so use it to cover
yourself and your buddies as you make your way to the objective marker. As you
do the truck will pull away so sprint and mash the action button to jump on in.
As you exit the facility, a number of hum vees will make chase, so use the
goliath to take them down as they come. When the chopper appears, ignore the
hum vees chasing you and focus fire on theat. Once it is down the mission is
complete.

===============================================================================

Chapter 4: The Wall [ACT-04]

===============================================================================

8 Collectibles
1 Achievement/trophy:

David Rejected - Complete the street section without Goliath taking any
damage in Chapter 4: The Wall

Walkthrough:
As you start the chapter, follow your friends outside and watch the scene.
After Connor clears the way, head through the gap and follow the path out. As
you do you should see a newspaper (35/61) sitting on the ground to the left.
Continue onwards across the street ad into the small driveway.

Once you enter the backyard here, check out the swimming pool, behind it on the
ground is a newspaper (36/61). Follow your comrades over the slanted fence and
into the street. As you reach the asphalt, you will be ambushed. Enemies with
RPGs will appear on the second floor of the house to your right and the house
directly across the street from the fence you just jumped over. Take cover and
eliminate the RPGs first, then focus your fire on the guys milling around the
road in front of you. After enough have been killed, a hum vee will appear. You
will now be given control of the goliath again. Kill the hum vee using the
goliath and any remaining baddies in the immediate area.

o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o
NOTE: In the next section you will be able to get the achievement/trophy -
David Rejected. This requires you to kill eight RPG soldiers from damaging
the goliath as you escort it down the street here. If you mess up, you can
reload your checkpoint so it shouldnt take too many tries!
o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o

We now have to escort the goliath down the street; the difficult part is that
we will have RPG solider firing down from the rooftops and tonnes of baddies on
the street as well. Try to remain in cover and utilise the goliath to take both
the ground troops and the RPG soldiers down. The RPG soldiers will always have
an objective marker over their heads, so prioritise taking them out with the
goliath and shoot them quick smart if the goliath cant lock them on.

Once the route has been cleared, look along the right hand side of the road for
a burning red car with an open garage behind it. Have a look inside said garage
for a newspaper (37/61). Return to where the goliath is waiting and it will
bust through the barricade here. Follow after it and repeat the process from
the previous section. Look out for the RPG soldiers and eliminate them
as a priority then focus on killing the other soldiers in the immediate area.

Once the enemies stop coming, a tank will make its way over the road block in
front of you. Follow the goliath through the house to the right and exit into
the back yard. Connor will lead you through a gate to the left of the area so
stay after him. As you exit back onto a street, look to the right to see the
tank again. Use the goliath targeter to target the tank then quickly get back
into cover. This should destroy the tank.

Now that the tank is done for, return to the gate where we just entered the
street. Look along the barricade to the left, tucked in behind a large beige
cylindrical object on the ground is a newspaper (38/61). Head back to your
friends.

After a short conversation, follow the goliath and the rest of the crew up and
over the barricade at the far end of the street. After a short scene, follow
the crew down into the aqueduct. Ahead and to the right you should see

something flashing in the grass below some graffiti in the corner. Check it
out for a newspaper (39/61). Continue after your buddies through the aqueduct
and up the dirt ramp to the right. Once the gate opens head inside. Look on the
ground near a dumpster in the back left corner of the room for another
newspaper (40/61) and listen into the story conversation.

Follow Connor through the fence here and turn left onto the street. Take cover
behind the concrete slabs here and take out the baddies in the surrounding
area.

You will need to activate the lever in the guard station in the middle of the
street and luckily you will only need to hold the button down for three seconds
or so (sarcasm over). Use the back wall of the guard house as cover and kill
any bad guys that have a clear shot of you. When you feel it is safe to do so,
enter the room and use the console to lower the first barricade.

Before continuing, look to the right of the guard station for a green sign that
has Foot Massage sign on it. Below it you should see a concrete
wall,

follow this around to the right to find a newspaper (41/61). Pick it up and
return to where Connor is.

Climb up the ramp on the right and use your sniper rifle (if you still have it,
anything else works just as well) to help support Connor and the rest of the
crew. Once enough KPA butt has been kicked, regroup with the rest of the team
and enter the White Castle building.

Exit through the back door into an alleyway. At the next locked door, Connor
will have you kick it open so prepare for slow-mo time Modern Warfare 2 style!
As you pull your weapon shoot the yellow barrels on the opposite side of the
room and then the guard to your left and any other KPA soldiers in close
proximity. As the slow motion runs out, get into cover. Mop up any survivors.

We will now need to not only activate a switch, but we will also need to take
out several RPG soldiers. Conveniently the RPG soldiers will now have
eliminate objective markers above their heads. Look on the right side of
the room from where we entered to see an open door, cruise through here and
look behind the service counter for a newspaper (42/61). From behind this
desk, you can also peek out of the boarded up window and shoot two of the
rocket guys to the right here as well. Return to the previous room, using as
much cover as possible, eliminate the remaining rocketeer in the usual fashion
before making your way over to the control box. As before, use it as cover to
eliminate any baddies that might have a clear shot on you and when it looks
safe to do so, activate the switch.

Once the switch is active, head back inside and into the room you sniped the
two rocket troopers from to regroup with Rianna. Follow her out the door and up
the stairs. Grab the awaiting RPG, wait for the goliath to race across to the
wall below and to the right and when Connor yells NOW, nail the goliath
with a rocket to explodify the gate. Make your way back downstairs and get into
the indicated hum vee.

Lucky you! You get to pilot the machine gun during the getaway. As you cross
the bridge, shoot up the 4-5 enemy hum vees blocking the road ahead. After
getting through the roadblock you will complete the mission.

Chapter 5: Heartland [ACT-05]

===============================================================================

13 Collectibles
1 Achievement/trophy:

Stairway to Heaven - From the front door of the church, make it to the crows
nest in 240 seconds in Chapter 5: Heartland

Walkthrough:
At the start of the level, cruise forward a short way an listen to the
conversation. As it ends, quickly take cover to the left and eliminate the
baddies in the immediate area. Make your way up the road, taking cover and
moving slowly. Our target is the run down building on the right side of the
road ahead (with the windmill on top). After a short distance, a rocket
launcher will spawn on its rooftop and reinforcements will exit the building.
Fight them off and take cover directly in front of the house. Kill off any
remaining baddies that appear in the windows.

Once the area is clear look around the left side of the house the enemies
attacked you from for a newspaper (43/61). Look past where our friends are
waiting for us to the left and you will see a small shack with a large American
flag draped across the front of it. Run over and check inside for another
newspaper (44/61). Exit the shack and instead of heading back to your crew,
look around behind the building to see another shack behind it, look inside for
yet another newspaper (45/61). Regroup with your chums and head on through the
gate when Connor kicks it open.

Follow Connor up the dirt hill next to the red barn, but keep your eyes on the
ground to the left and you will be able to pick up newspaper (46/61). Continue
onwards until you reach a small shack in the middle of the path here you will
find another newspaper (47/61).

We are now in a stealth section of the mission, shooting people or getting
spotted is a no-no, so be sure to follow Connors instructions closely. After
the two chatting guards walk off, follow Connor as he sprints across the
street. Stop where he stops and wait for the guard to walk off. Duck round the
corner to the right and follow Connor into the field. Stop behind the machinery
here and Connor will alert you to a sniper in the tower ahead. DO NOT SHOOT
HIM before the objective marker switches from wait to eliminate or you will
have to revisit the previous checkpoint.

Once the guy is down, follow corner around to the left and wait in cover. When
Connor moves again follow him to the tractor and then keep after him as he
races across the nearby field. Hang out behind the wooden structure here and
wait for Rianna to dispose of the bad guy nearby. After she has killed him,
snipe the RPG wielding baddy standing on top of the windmill. Follow Connor
through the gate and into the garage.

Wait for the helicopter to pass and then follow Connor down the dirt road to
the left and through the building. Take cover with the rest of the crew in
front of the house and when Connor gives the word, snipe the guy who appears in
the second floor window. Keep following your crew to the left and pause whilst
you watch some enemy antics from cover. Continue on until you reach a corroded
metal structure, again Connor will stop and ask you to eliminate a sentry in
the house in front. Do so.

Enter the house after Connor, turn left through the door here and knife the guy
standing with his back to you. Look on the shelf closest to the floor next to
the exit to find a newspaper (48/61). Wait with your buddies for the pair of
enemies to move on, then you will get told to eliminate an RPG soldier on the
raised part of the windmill in front of you. Kill him and then follow Connor.
He will run down a slight slope and drop down a small jump, there should be
three blue cars in front of you. Look to the right here, just after jumping
down and amongst some grass you will find a newspaper (49/61), if you have
trouble finding it, Rianna will usually kneel right next to it if you take too
long to jump down.

Run down into the river and follow your crew upstream. Keep going beneath the
bridge and you will be ambushed. Take cover and use your weapon of choice to
eliminate the survivalists in the area. Some will come from further up the
river and more will spawn near the buildings and race down the hill to the
left. Keep plugging away until Connor tells you to move up. Polish off any
remaining stragglers.

Before following the others, climb the hill directly to the left of the bridge
to find a small shack here with a newspaper (50/61) sitting in front of it
behind a white chair. Regroup with your crew. And move forward until you reach
the chopper wreckage. Take cover behind the cement wall there until the
immediate area is clear, then look to the left of the helicopter to find a
small shack. Look behind this and in front of a larger building here you will
find a newspaper (51/61). Return to your friends and eliminate both groups of
enemies.

As you move up, the majority of the survivalists will hang out on the ground
level, but there are a couple of spots in front and to the left where you will
find enemies occasionally appearing in raised areas. Try to keep an eye out for
these guys as they can be annoying. Once the area is clear continue through to
the far side and turn the corner.

Eliminate the guy who emerges from the blue building on the left and continue
to follow your team as they work their way forward. Pay attention to the
raised area on the right and polish off all the baddies that come into your
sights. Move through the area to the right side, killing any enemies in your
way. When you reach the far end, your team mates will single out a guy in a
windmill ahead. So snipe him and then continue after your pals up the hill.

As you start to move up, look in front of and to the right of the windmill for
a building with a red stripe around its middle. Look behind the sandbag wall
here for a newspaper (52/61). Follow your mates up the hill towards the church
in the distance. Keep watching the left side of the road as you approach the
church and you will find a broken fence with a cemetery behind it. In here you
will find a newspaper (53/61).

After a short conversation, you will split up from your team and will need to
head for the church. Kill the two guards standing in front of it and any that
come from within and when the area is clear, before heading inside look in the
corner to the right of the door to find a newspaper (54/61).

o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o
NOTE: You will be able to attempt an achievement/trophy here. You will need to
go from the front door of the church to the bell tower in 4 minutes to unlock
- Stairway to Heaven. This might be a little difficult on guerrilla
difficulty, but it is not impossible. If you get too frustrated, you can retry
the level on an easier difficulty and make it a breeze.
o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o

Enter the church, climb the stairs to the left and run forward. Eliminate the
guy behind the boards in the doorway in front of you and the pair of baddies on
the catwalk against the back wall. Around this time, enemies on the ground
floor below will start firing at you as well, on the lesser difficulties you
can ignore them, but on the higher difficulties they will ruin your day if you
do that. Kill them and continue around the walkway killing the guard in front
of the ladder. Climb this, and then the second ladder nearby. At the top,
follow the objective marker and kill the final bad guy in the doorway to reach
your destination.

Go prone and get a nice view over the area below. You will not be able to go
nuts with your sniper rifle as yet unfortunately as you dont want to
cause a panic. Instead Connor, will mark targets for you. As before, wait for
the marker to switch from wait to eliminate before shooting or you will
need to restart the checkpoint. Be sure to listen to what Connor wants you to
do so you know what is required. After killing the first 6 guys, your crew will
get into the truck in the middle of the road.

Soon afterwards you will need to jump out of the tower, drop down to the ground
level and look for a red pickup truck to the right. You will find next to it a
newspaper (55/61). You will now need to make your way down to the road and
across the base to the awaiting helicopter. This may very well be the hardest
part of the entire game!

There is no real easy way to do this bit, so Ill describe what worked
for me. As you run down the hill from the church, hang towards the left hand
side, three enemies will come over a wall here, kill them or they will go and
guard the entrance to the gate. Once they are dead, make your way to the
entrance, toss a grenade at the closest barrel on the left, and another at the
closest barrel on the right (shoot them if you dont have grenades) and as soon
as the second grenade detonates sprint inside the gate and to the right, here
you will find a shack at the end, a pair of trucks and some crates. You can
use all of these as cover to make your way over to the helicopter.

Once you reach your team mates, sprint over and take cover behind the
helicopter and stay there in safety until you are instructed to steal the
chopper. Once the word has been given, hop in to complete the mission.

Chapter 6: Overwatch [ACT-06]

===============================================================================

0 Collectibles
2 Achievements/trophies:
Speed Demon - Hijack the tankers in less than 8 minutes in one life in
              Chapter 6: Overwatch
Safer Skies - Destroy all the SAM trucks in the level in Chapter 6:
              Overwatch

Walkthrough:
In this mission you will be using the same helicopter we stole at the end of
the previous mission, huzzah! Move forward to start with and use your machine
gun and rockets to deal with the group of hum vees on the road.

o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o
NOTE: You will have an opportunity to go for an achievement/trophy at this
point. You must fly from the beginning of the level to the three fuel tankers
and hijack all three of them without dying in less than 8 minutes. This is
doable on any difficulty, but I would recommend hitting it on easy just to ease
the frustration.
o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o
NOTE: You will also earn the achievement/trophy - Safe Skies if you destroy all
of the SAM sites in the level. There are 7 of them and they are listed in the
walkthrough below.
o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o

When you reach the tunnel, lower your height and cruise, through eliminating
anybody here. At the far end, you will need to hurry up and around the corner
to find the fuel convoy. Try to kill all of the hum vees around the transport
vehicles (around 3-4 of them). Doing so will give you your next objective, you
need to lower the chopper, and pull p beside the fuel truck indicated, when you
are in the right spot an action button indicator will appear on the screen, hit
that so one for your crew can jump across and jack it. Once the first one is
down, speed up and the repeat the process two more times.

Now that your buddies are safely inside, you will need to escort them down the
road. The things to watch out for in order are:

1>>>> You need to destroy two SAM sites on the left of the road, then one on
      the hill to the right
2>>>> Destroy the Korean roadblock
3>>>> When you reach the overpass, eliminate the Korean troops underneath and
above it. Fly over the top of them and go up and down the bridge rather
from shooting from a distance or they will blow up the trucks even on
      easy.
4>>>> Work your way through the suburb, eliminating any threats as they are
called out. You will usually get a red target marker or an eliminate
objective to highlight them when this happens.
5>>>> Destroy the attack helicopter.
6>>>> When the tankers get onto the highway, destroy all the RPG troopers they
call out and hit the SAM site on the roof on the right. There are an
additional three SAM sites near the water, two on the left and one on
      the right.

In the middle of the bridge, Connors truck will break down. You will need to
defend the tankers from the direction they just drove in from for a minute or
two against a constant wave of hum vees. Its not so tough, so once the guys
are ready to go, hold off any more baddies in close range and once the bridge
explodes, you will complete the mission.

3 Achievements/trophies:
Fatal and Tragic - Jump off the Golden Gate Bridge in Chapter 7: Golden
                      Gate
Soft Targets - Destroy all vehicles using the UAV in Chapter 7: Golden
                      Gate

Wilhelms Nightmare - Knock 10 enemies off of the scaffolding during the
helicopter fly-in in Chapter 7: Golden Gate

Walkthrough:
Move up and listen into the conversation. After hearing out the conversation
and before jumping in the helicopter, look to your right and check out the
sheltered area. Inside you will find a newspaper (56/61) on a table here.
Return to the helicopter and get in.

The pilot will take you towards a recognisable bridge in the distance and you
will be informed that the weapon you are holding also has a grenade function.
Good stuff!

o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o
NOTE: you will have the opportunity to try for an achievement/trophy
- Wilhelms Nightmare here. Using the grenade launcher, you need to knock
10 enemies off of the bridge to their deaths. Try to shoot near the enemies to
encourage them to fly in different directions. If you dont get 10 simply
re-start the checkpoint and try again!
o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o

You will fly around the supports of the tower, so do your best to knock as many
enemies out as possible as you make your way around. After a couple of laps,
our chopper will land. Before moving too far, shoot the RPG trooper on the
raised guard platform in the back left corner from where you entered, and then
make your way up and into cover. Eliminate the hostiles blocking your path
whilst keeping an eye on the guard platform where the RPG trooper was hanging
out before as he will be replaced a couple of times. Head inside the building
on the right side of the area (easiest way!) and push up through the enemy
troops until you reach the gate.

Once the gate opens up, follow Connor. As you round the corner, a tank will
appear. Immediately retreat to where you came from. When it is safe to do so,
head around the corner here and take cover behind the truck. Look to the right
and you will see some stairs leading to an open building. Wait for the tank to
fire, and then sprint up the steps into the building. Immediately take cover
and kill the baddies at the far end of the room, oh and be sure to stay away
from the windows or the tank will smash you.

Exit the building and drop down behind the shipping container here. Again, as
before wait for the tank to fire before running up the next set of stairs into
the open building. Get rid of its inhabitants and then grab the RPG off the
floor, look out the window nearby and let the tank have it. After three rockets
it will go down.

Before continuing, return to where the tank broke through the wall, here look
for a red shipping container. On the ground next to it you will find a
newspaper (57/61). Regroup with Connor and the soldiers.

Climb the ladder and head to the right at the top. Grab some C4 and restock on
weapons here if you like before continuing round the corner to the left. Work
your way across the bottom of the support and up the ramp here. Follow upwards
until Connor tells you to take the lead.

Continue to the top of the ramp here, killing the guy who rushes around the
corner at you. Now sprint up and to the left into cover and take out the other
soldiers in the immediate area as well as any exiting the door on the far side
of the area.

Follow Connor inside and kill the enemy that rushes out at you from the door at
the top. Take cover by the door frame and kill the 3-4 enemies inside before
proceeding after Connor. Kill another three baddies after the next set of
stairs then head back outside again.

Follow your buddy outside, up and around the ramp to the right. At the top,
take cover and eliminate the KPA here. Make your way across to the other
support and again keep after Connor as he climbs the ramps and before you head
inside, do what Connor suggests and lob a grenade inside. Cruise in after
Connor and mop up any surviving resistance. Climb the first set of stairs, but
before climbing the second set, look on the shelf to the left for a newspaper
(58/61). Keep heading up the stairs, eliminating the baddies here before once
again exiting the inside area.

As you round the corner at the top of the ramp, kill the enemies on the
platform above and the second group that rappels down from the deck of the
bridge above. Then kill the enemies on the catwalk in front of you. Follow
Connor up the metal ramp here. Take cover and eliminate the baddies as you make
your way across to the opposite side of the area. Climb the ladder here onto
the deck of the bridge.

At the top of the ladder, turn the corner to the left and flank the guards at
the checkpoint here. Take cover and clear the area. Once they are done tanks
will start rolling through and Connor will tell you to follow him again.
Instead, run to the far side of the bridge from where you entered and look here
for a newspaper (59/61) sitting on a crate. Regroup with Connor.

After the gate and the first tank are taken down, follow the rest of your posse
through the gate. Kill any enemies nearby and look for a ramp to the right with
a wall of stacked tyres at the top. From here we can pick off the two RPG
soldiers that are now marked by objective markers for elimination. Return back
down to the bridge deck and move up to the objective marker along with your
team and the tanks.

o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o
NOTE: If you have already died, or reloaded a checkpoint and are no longer
going for the - Iron Man achievement for this level, at this point you can
earn another trophy/achievement - Fatal and Tragic, look to the left of the
bridge and you will see that the railing is gone, simply jump off the bridge
from this point to earn the achievement/trophy.
o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o

Again work your way up the right side of the bridge with the tanks. When the
sentry towers appear ahead, quickly get into cover behind the indicated truck.
There will be a short scene.

When you regain control, you will be on a lower section of the bridge. Stay in
cover whilst the helicopter fires at you and when it bails, move forward and
over the small ramp here, killing th three guys in front of you. Turn right and
again take cover and eliminate the baddies on the ramp to the right. Once they
are dead, ignore the ramp for the moment, and jump over the blue containers in
front of you, look on the ground here for a newspaper (60/61).

Climb the ramp and follow the catwalk round until it hits a dead end. Hang out
here for a second and wait for the helicopter to fly underneath, in the
distance across the bridge you will see a pair of KPA soldiers rappel down,
kill them. Now find the area where you see the broken railing and drop down
onto the girder below. Make your way across the girders to where we saw the
enemies rappel down before. Climb the ladder nearby.

You will re-emerge on the deck of the bridge and conveniently behind the two
sentry towers. Grenade the one in front of you, flank the baddies nearby and
work your way from cover to cover to the other side of the area and take down
the second sentry when you get the chance.

After regrouping with your chums, grab the rocket launcher nearby and shoot
down the enemy helicopter, shoot it a couple of times with the javelin to bring
it down. After it has been defeated, regroup with Connor in the centre of the
bridge. Wait for the large gate to open.

There is a sniper rifle to the left just before the gate if you feel like
holding back and cleaning up from a distance. Take cover and try to pick off
the RPG soldier in the left hand guard tower if you can. Work your way forward
with the rest of the soldiers towards the AA gun ahead. Once you reach the
platform you will get a checkpoint.

We will now have to defend the platform against the KPA. I suggest running up
the stairs into the nearby tower, not only does it give you a good vantage
point, but it also contains the final newspaper in the game (61/61).

o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o
NOTE: If you have been following the guide you should now have 61/61
collectibles and should unlock the trophy/achievement - Historian
o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o

Shoot the enemies as they come to attack and defend Hopper whilst he works on
the AA guns, just play smart and keep in cover, only pop out when you have
to and if you do get hit stay hidden until you recover. Pay particular
attention to the two guard towers, as machine gunners and RPG soldiers will
persistently appear. Defend the platform for 2-3 minutes and once you have
killed enough baddies, the AA gun will be captured.

Return to the AA platform and head to the designated objective marker to take
control of the UCAV.

o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o
NOTE: You can earn a trophy/achievement here. If you can destroy all the
vehicles on the bridge approaching your position, you will unlock the
achievement/trophy - Soft Targets
o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~o

After the drone sequence, sprint over and jump into the back of the hum vee.
Time for a little last minute gunning! Cruise forward and take out the enemy
hum vee and then its time to duke it out with an enemy goliath. To
defeat it you just need to keep shooting, when it launches missiles at you,
utilise the appropriate button to release counter measures. After a fairly
lengthy battle, the goliath will crash into a fuel truck. Destroy the truck to
kill it and finish the mission.

Congratulations! You just completed Homefront!
